It looks like from September 12 - October 29 2022, the Eurowings (seasonal) Frankfurt FRA- Calgary YYC flights is 3x weekly on Monday, Thursday & Saturday, with the Finnair Airbus A350 plane ✈️ operating it still.

Although It’s 4x weekly from August 1-September 10.

That's how it usually works, no? I think most European seasonal flights from North America decrease in frequency after early or mid-September.

I actually never said that. If you look above, I said I think LHR is fine to be supported by two carriers as it has before. I did say it would be interesting for WestJet given they have yet to run a TATL route out of YYC daily year-round.

I also did say AC will get all of the business traffic. That's a fair criticism, so let's see where the split is. Even though LHR is not a *A hub, it's such an important airport that it's a defacto hub to many places in Europe. Aeroplan allows redemption to Europe on LHR that WS lacks. I'm not sure what you do or where you get your data so if you've got it, let us know how the business yields look for both carriers on this route. I have been told anecdotally that YYC-LHR had one of the highest yields in the entire AC network.

These 2 sentences contradict each other. When you say "all", you in fact do not mean "all", and you mean "majority", because split implies that, in fact, you yourself do not believe AC will not be getting "all" of the traffic.

I am not denying AC's J cabin will yield higher than WS's cabin to LHR. This is obviously true. You keep reiterating that AC will get all of the business traffic. I don't believe that to be true.

Pedantic much? I just said you were right to call me out on the "all" and it wasn't a likely outcome (see - fair criticism). No, it won't be all. Let's see how it shakes out, as you have the data.

What I wasn't fully expecting is how much cargo Finnair is loading. Edelweiss takes pretty much zero, but Finnair is loading about as much as WestJet sends to Paris or Rome.

It’s essentially LH to FRA. Cargo is always part of the equation at FRA. ZRH not so much, relatively speaking of course.

It fully makes sense, just apparently not in the context of what they originally intended to carry. The swap of equipment to the 350 might be the difference maker.

WS filed its winter schedule in the OAG tonight. Currently seeing the 789 scheduled to LHR, CUN, PVR, OGG and even HNL.

BZE, NAS and VRA all appear to be resuming (these haven’t operated since pre-covid).

Looks like the winter schedule is open for bookings now? Seems to just be reductions.

For YYC, its pretty similar to last winter. Just no LIH.

-OGG is increased to 4x weekly when it resumes in November, HNL gets upped to a 789. (Both are operated on a mix of 789/7M8). KOA still weekly on Sundays.

-LHR is daily, compared to 2x weekly LGW last winter.

-As mentioned, VRA/NAS and BZE are all scheduled this winter when none of them have operated since pre-COVID. This means all winter routes will have been restored this year.

-They're gonna try SNA again at 3x weekly (at least from mid-December onwards).

-SEA keeps its evening flight on select days.

Here's a full summary of routes at peak service:

LHR - 1x Daily 789
CUN - Up to 3x Daily 789/737
PVR - Up to 3x Daily 789/737
SJD - Up to 2x Daily
HUX - 3x weekly
LTO - 1x weekly
ZIH - 4x weekly
ZLO - 3x weekly
MZT - 4x weekly
LIR - 3x weekly
MBJ - 1x weekly
VRA - 2x weekly
NAS - 1x weekly
BZE - 1x weekly

SEA - Up to 2x Daily
PDX- 4x weekly
SFO - 3x weekly
LAX - 2x Daily
PSP - Up to 3x Daily
SNA - 3x weekly
SAN - 4x weekly
LAS - Up to 3x Daily
PHX - 3x Daily
AZA - 2x weekly
IAH - 11x weekly
MCO - Up to 1x Daily
FLL - 2x weekly
JFK - 3x weekly
OGG - 5x weekly 789/7M8
HNL - 5x weekly 789/7M8
KOA - 1x weekly

I may have missed one or two, and maybe gotten a frequency or two incorrect. Too lazy to look into domestic.

Just for WS ego they should be mainline. The Q looks ridiculous in SEA in the international satellite terminal. They have 7 or 8 wide bodies and their tiny prop plane

Alaska also bring the YYJ flight in there as Victoria does not have pre-clearance. So yes there is more than one Q400 going in there. Would agree they both look weird.

Domestic frequencies are a lot lower than I expected. There's gonna be a lot of slack in the fleet. Maybe WS wants to shrink or am I reading too much into it?
