SSP Calgary never adopted project threads for the valid reason that they do limit the direction of conversation. They are the most effective way to get updates on the projects that have one's interest than going through ten pages of blurry mcmansion photos and condo ownership being bad.
A good summary of it. Plus the outright idiotic Migs style corndogger conservatives who shit posted about every urban development and somehow blamed Nenshi and whined about taxes etc.

That RN1264747 gobbledygook name developer’s project has weird looking siding. Is it just corrugated metal? Love how that area is turning out though.

Yeah I miss Chad. His updates kept me in the loop about what’s going on for local developments.

Wow Zoomer. What a great photo. This really shows Victoria's density. I'm really hoping the London Drugs towers get built. Such a perfect place for the extra height. Thanks so much for sharing this photo too.

Yeah, I stopped checking in on the conversation at urbantoronto a year or two ago. There is a limit to the number of individual project threads. My opinion of course, I don't know why they haven't broken up the development forum into high rise and low rise. Not only that, they have expanded the boundaries of the forum as the GO has expanded. Kitchener has Waterlooconnected.com.

He's too much of a localized optimistic. It rubs people the wrong way on a site like this. The site feels calmer without him eventhough I mostly just site to the few development threads.

There's a reason why I have a hard time making new project threads anymore, or posting to the one's I've made....there's simply too many 30+ floor projects going up in a 10 minute walk from me for me to feel compelled to photograph them.

Must be near the intersection of Redpath (or is it Red Path?) and Broadway. The intensification there is insanity. It's not a greenfield development and/or one developer owning a big block. Midrise blocks up to ten storeys had to be demo'd to make room.

Yep, that's the spot mainly. There's about 8 towers going up there alone on either side of the intersection.

When Chad was around, Calgary was going through some incredible growth, and although his over the top boosterism was a little nauseating at times, ultimately he was proud of what the city he calls home was accomplishing, and there was nothing wrong with that. The problems he had with forumers were self inflicted though. While he was boosting Calgary, he was being an antagonist by constantly taking cheap shots at other cities. It was like a double whammy of sorts. Of course he rolled over and played the proverbial "victim" once the blow back started rolling in..I don't think he's a bad dude..he was just very immature at that time. To his credit, he did admit on a few occasions that he suffered some mental health problems, so I myself backed off when I learned about that. As most Calgarians on here are probably aware now, the ROC (forumers) never had a problem with Calgary's successes, and are very supportive in fact. You were just caught in the crossfire of the blowback..I myself, love Calgary's skyline, and some of it's talls.

For sure, amazing density. Would be a perfect place for higher order transit.

And that Edmonton shot, really loving that low angle. Looks great. Ice District really transformed the skyline with only a handful of towers.

From RailFans Discord, during the installation of a new pedestrian/cycling bridge over the Rideau River at Carleton University. Dow's Lake centre-left and Centertown/Downtown on the right.

A little more towards the right (east).

View of Gottingen Street in Halifax. That Staples is getting more and more out of place. It is owned by a developer and I'd guess it'll be gone in the next decade.

I can't really comment on anything before I started surfing ssp threads but my impression is that there're some feral posters on here. I only check this site maybe once a week so I don't know the tendencies of all the posters that basically live on here but judging from what i've noticed there does seem to be a chasm between posters from different regions on ssp. I never knew what the term ROC meant until reading posts on here.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?t=213258&page=862

Plus posting any comment about say, urban vitality, between cities generally gets some sort of inferiority crazed comments within like half an hour from easterners but I never see nearly as many comments for other regions.

https://skyscraperpage.com/forum/showthread.php?p=9677172#post9677172

Anyway, to each their own.

And that Victoria pic above is amazing urbanity!
which I will just close my mouth and not compare to anywhere, just because.

Happy BC Day long weekend next week.

I think Lio and Acajack invented the term.

It's not an SSP-specific term at all, and has existed in the political world for decades.
