They are baking in a lot of appreciation before 2026 or whenever this is done. This actually seems like a better investment than projects a year away which will see possession in the middle of high rates and a downturn.

^Good news!!! This could be a redeeming project for Claridge. Simple yet interesting design. less areas to fuck up. Its also a move away from the boring Ottawa style tower towards Toronto style IMO.

I thought Icon was supposed to do that... not holding my breath - Claridge is the master manipulator at bait n switch...

But this project is a lot harder to fuck up! No curvy balconies. Also I have to say Icon is actually growing on me now that its almost finish and most balconies are complete

Interesting. I’ve never heard anyone refer to Toronto tower architecture as good. Quite the opposite. I hear nothing but complaints of Toronto being boring generic glass boxes. But I guess with what Claridge and Trinity have built recently, Ottawa would welcome some soulless glass boxes.

Rideau + Chapel, Claridge Moon, Claridge Royale... all seem like pretty straight forward designs, no curves or anything yet all of those projects are looking quite

Ottawa and Toronto build too much of the same thing. But that's charcoal brick in Ottawa vs glass in Toronto, so we can use a few slim/tall-ish glass towers.

Yeah, well, the Claridge projects were designed to e bland. Not too much bait-and-switch in those two examples. Trinity's Rideau project through, that took a quite a turn for the

Why is Minto immune to Charcoalbrickicitis? They rarely touch the stuff. Minto Beechwood uses gorgeous materials throughout, without a single soulless black block. Upperwest, Metropole, Lansdowne...project after project without any charcoal, all using high quality and light materials.

Maybe they can't get a hold of any because RLA has them all stored in their secret underground lair?

Hi everyone,

Long time lurker here so this is my first post. I just saw that Hintonburg is no longer listed on the Claridge website. Anyone know what happened to this development?

Matt

Most likely they removed the 'Coming Soon' page before the final project page is complete

From previous comments seems like sales weren't very high yet so it'll be interesting that they will chose to start construction still
This was done at the Revalie on Brookfield as well. They had personnel from Blastek come into the Egan/Hobson neighborhood, and go through everyone's property, take photos, and make notes of what type of construction each house was done in, so that if any blasting or pile driving damaged people's homes or structures in their yards, the developer would take care of the bill for repair and replacement. The site surveys of everyone's homes was only done if given permission, and while being escorted by the homeowners (I was one of them).

I walked by yesterday and the site is still in the same state as the photo from a week ago.

I'm quite excited for this project. 99m in Ottawa is no joke and it's in a very prime and standout location. With the renderings of those balconies, this is definitely a good chance for Claridge to prove their worth to this form. I have strong faith in this one for some reason.

99m today would put in in the top 10 Wikipedia tallest buildings in Ottawa. There is also a slight prominence to the site as well so this thing should really pop height wise.

Thanks again to Harley? I think it's Harley who has been attempting to update the wiki for Ottawa.

Yes I have been working constantly on the Tallest in Ottawa-Gatineau wiki for a very long time. It's difficult to get reliable heights for a lot of projects in this city, but I do my best.

Yes, great work Harley. We should all collectively help update some of the Ottawa related Wikipedia images. Lots of Ottawa related articles have poor pictures or no picture at all. One that stands out to me is the List of diplomatic missions in Ottawa article. Looks like someone went around and took photos 17 years ago in the dead of winter. Not a photogenic time of year for some of the images.
