RCMP Heritage Centre to be among beneficiaries of federal funding
YMCA, the Circle Project and the City of Regina are also slated to benefit from federal dollars earmarked for "recreation and community revitalization," minister says.
As part of the package in Regina, he said $750,000 is to be given to the Regina Exhibition Association Limited for the creation of indoor facilities for pickle ball, basketball and skateboarding at the REAL District.
As well, a new YMCA “community connection centre” is to receive $500,000.
The Circle Project, a local non-profit organization, is to receive $475,000 to create a “community and cultural hub” in the North Central neighbourhood, which Vandal said he’d visited before lunch Wednesday.
And $300,000 is meant to be given to the City of Regina to “enhance downtown City Square for year-round use.”
“$4.5 million in the funding announced today will go towards projects across the province supporting Indigenous communities and cultural experiences and Indigenous organizations, as we continue our shared journey towards reconciliation,” Vandal said.
