Tomorrow should be excellent (by our standards):

Though, I am concerned how close that 10 is. Trepassey and most of the Irish Shore is prone to fog, but it doesn't take a lot to also bring that — up and into St. John's.

This evening has been relatively cool (except in the direct sun). I added a new plant to the collection, another from the wish list - a lemon/lime philo.

And I repotted my Brazil philo into the same type of hanging basket. Hopefully I can get the lemon/lime one this big.

The average temperatures or rainfall don't really convey what it's been like around here. We have had very few truly nice days or reliably nice periods so far this year. Victoria Day weekend was pretty good and that's about it. The current Google forecast has 1 day hitting 20 degrees and some rain on 6/7 days.

Apparently we've been in a La Niña cycle for a while now and it may continue through this coming winter. It does really feel to me like we've been in a worse than normal cycle around here for maybe even 2 years now.

Should be no issues in St. John's tomorrow. Winds will be southerly, which is favorable for us, but southerly winds will keep places that are on the south coast, like Trepassey, cooler. Also evident in places like Burgeo and Harbour Breton, where if you just go inland a bit away from the south coast you'll find temperatures in the mid to high 20s.

Why is Fogo so cold? I assume it would benefit from the warm winds blowing off the bulk of the island the same way the rest of the northeast coast does? It's really not far offshore at all.

The effect from the wind does diminish as you reach the coast again, especially this time of year when the ocean is still pretty cool. You can see the skinny band of green (aka cooler temperatures) along the northeast coast. Plus Fogo is completely surrounded by ocean.

The same can be said about St. John's though, downtown has a bit of a heat island effect. However I bet tomorrow if you head out to Torbay or Middle Cove it'll probably be quite a bit cooler than in the city itself.

24C with a humidex of 28 and sunny. Another decent day. EC smoking a good one yet again. Not exactly sure who forecasted a high of 27C for today but people are fired for this kind of incompetence. Being 3 degrees off is not a big deal if there is a system or winds since those are harder to predict. However, such difference on sunny and calm days is unacceptable. Just a very productive use of tax money.

Low of 15C

The warmspot was Sarnia, ON at 34.6C. New yearly high in Canada.
Also humidex of 45 in Windsor, Sarnia and Ridgetown, ON.

Not a cloud in the sky. Already out in the sun. And I mentioned a while ago that laburnum was the only typical St. John’s tree I wasn’t sure existed in the ring of trees around my yard. Well, found one! It’s the first on the left - and already loaded with blossoms that are still green.

A warm and juicy morning here today, 25C with a 22C dew point and a humidex of 34. Only dropped to the mid 20s overnight after yesterday’s high of 34.5C. Cooler today with a high of 31C.

15C and sunny in Moncton at 8 AM, going up to 27C later this afternoon.

Unfortunately the Highland Games forecast for the weekend has deteriorated again, and is even worse than it was initially. It will now be rainy all weekend, and the high temperature on Sunday is projected to be only 9C.

Very Scottish weather. No wonder the Scots are renowned for their dour personalities and their high incidence of bipolar disorder.

Scotland was fun - and funny. Still remember missus complaining about Edinburgh (“No matter where you need to go, it’s always up there!”)

And the description of Edinburgh being the girl you’d bring home to meet your parents, but Glasgow being the sloppy one who’d show ya a great time

Both very relatable lol

Sunny and 20 at 10:30am. High of 20 expected at the airport, not sure what it'll get to here at my spot today, but it should be a solid day none the less.

Tomorrow may not be as nice as expected, looking at southeasterly winds tomorrow so I wouldn't anticipate any mid-high 20s like the rest of the island should see.

Now that's a St. John's forecast if I've ever seen one. Thanks for taking one for the team so we can enjoy some decent weather over this way.

Yesterday was a scorcher; my car read 35 on my way home from work and really high humidity. I was out on my bike all evening, drank two full bottles of water, and still I had lost 8lbs from sweating.

Sunny and 21 today, and green very green out there.

At 3:15 yesterday afternoon the North Sask was running at 239.5 cubic meters a second and at 3.5 meters in depth. at 7am today 704 cubic meters a second and at 5.1 meters. Looking up stream we will have another 24hrs before it starts to drop.

Weekend looks a bit messed up. 17 and rain shower on Sat then 21 on Sunday.

Heading to Invermere BC this weekend and Sat is 20 with 60% showers and Showers Sunday but 16C.

One must do what one needs to do to survive the climate.

Perpetual fog, rain and drizzle combined with short days and seasonal gloom for six months a year, multiplied by many "wee drams" = a very labile and potentially colourful or belligerent personality.

A side effect of this however was it made the Scots particularly difficult to conquer, so there is that.........

More unseasonably cool weather and rain today, currently 14c aon its way to 19c and showers/chance of a Thunderstorm. We dont get many thunderstorms so that would be a nice change.

Our 14 week outlook is still all below the daily average for mid/late June.

Big white should still have ample amounts of snow into July this year.

Looks like it's one of those days where it'll be hotter and sunnier in Corner Brook, NL than Kamloops.

I'm happy for you Newfoundlanders.

Heat warning for Maple Creek!
Usually I've got a wise crack but it finally lives up to the humour.

27C with a humidex of 34 this afternoon. Massive t-storms late this afternoon. A lot of rain (I even saw small hail).
Of course, the F1 twitter handle didn't miss its chance... at least it was a tropical rain as the dewpoint remained at 20C.

The teams are also having their fun.

Low of 19C.

The warmspots were Harrow and Toronto, ON at 33.3C
