Last time I hit 85kph.

North Sask river in Edmonton is starting to rise. Less of Accidental beach is showing. But on my project site the standing water was much less than expected. so maybe we need this good soaking rain.
Come by for a pint on the way back

Frost warning for the night, should be 0-5C throughout the city, with the coldest temperatures in low-lying, sheltered areas. Brutal.

But apparently there's a "heat wave" en route to follow

EDIT: Almost 15C in my backyard now under strong sun. Breeze is distractingly cool when it reaches me but otherwise it’s fantastic.

Not looking forward to this heatwave, my AC isn’t working and I have to find someone to come in and hopefully fix it! Ugh!

97F forecasted for Detroit today, with a 106F feels like temperature.

37C, or 99F is forecast for Windsor next Wednesday as well.

16C and partly cloudy in Moncton at 9 AM, going up to 24C later this afternoon.

The weather forecast for the weekend has improved considerably, now calling for 60% chance of showers on Saturday and sunny on Sunday. Good for the Highland Games.

Currently cloudy with sunny breaks and 14 degrees at just before 10:30am. High today is of 11, except 17 inland. Winds will become northeasterly some time this morning, but I'm unsure if that means we'll have a cooldown in the city or we'll break above expected highs. Time will tell....

Frost advisory to boot tonight. Probably won't freeze for most of the city, but I'd imagine inland, low lying areas may be at risk. Places like the Brookfield Road experimental farm, where there is an official EC weather station (St. John's West).

Today should be our last cold day though, with temperatures at or above normal for the rest of the extended forecast.

Bad timing, today will be as hot and humid as it ever gets.

As of 10:35 am:
Current Temp: 26.8°C
Apparent Temperature (Australia): 31.8°C
Humidex 40.8°C
US Heat Index: 30.9°C
Humidity / Dewpoint: 98% / 26.4°C
High Temp: 26.9°C at 10:24 AM
Low Temp: 19.4°C at 4:40 AM

Rain has not been that bad in Edmonton. In fact I think this rain is a good long soaking rain. Been watching the river level. Metering station upstream of Edmonton, At Rocky Mountain House,. The levels went from 200cubic meters per second to 700 CBM/S in the last 12 hours.

Edmonton has gone from 200 to 300. But expect a big jump late tomorrow or Friday.

The temperature now is 33C, dew point is 24C and the humidex is 44.

Detroit is 92F (33.3C) with a dew point of 74F and a feels like temperature of 102F (38.9C) so about 6 degrees difference.

We all know the Humidex is way higher

Here's where things stand at my house right now:

Current Temp: 30.3°C
Apparent Temperature: 35.7°C
Heat Index: 41.9°C
Humidex: 46.8
Humidity / Dewpoint: 90% / 28.5°C

The relationships among these indices are not linear, now the humidex is only 5 degrees higher than the heat index (although technically humidex has no units). The Australian index is trending lower now because it also factors in the wind, which has picked up a bit since this morning

Another comparison of feels like indices, as the temperature continues rising. The gap between heat index and humidex is now only about 3.

Current Temp: 33.0°C
Apparent Temperature: 38.1°C
Heat Index: 46.0°C
Humidex 49.0°C
Humidity / Dewpoint: 76% / 28.1°C

It's been a really wimpy spring in BC this year. It looks like cool temps and rain into the summer.
