This weekend has been perfect. Just a few clouds 25, humidex 30-32 both days. Longest days of the year, it feels summery and Lake Erie is just about warmed up

As a fisherman I'm not a fan of the rain, but it has been good for the grass and garden, especially when you're away and don't have to worry about watering. And no possibility of fire ban when you're in the woods.
Every year there's always a random pine tree that dies at the cottage for some reason. Dead pine needles make for good kindling. Even if they're wet they immediately light on fire. Makes a beautiful, rapid crackling sound too.
Up on Georgian Bay definitely not as comfortably warm as your locale by Erie. No humidity up there. Saturday was sunny and calm. Not hot but no breeze whatsoever so that made the beach very comfortable. And water temp is good enough for swimming but I'd want the air temp to be warmer. Steady rain Saturday night through Sunday till noon and then sun came out on and off. Below 20 and no humidity. Leave at 4:30 and arrive home two hours later and voila, nice to feel humidity again.
Today was the least amount of traffic I've ever seen on Sunday at peak cottage rush hour. Not a single slowdown on the 400. Nothing on the 401 either for some reason. I wondered if people saw the Sunday forecast and said forget about the cottage this weekend but Saturday was nice enough and usually
that many people don't get turned off by poor Sunday weather.
