I'm scared to know how many (or how few) elevators they put in these things. I am guessing 4 in each of those 70+ towers. MAYBE 6 but even that will be rough when you have a move. as they would be in 2 x banks of 3 split between the upper and lower half of the residential floors (60+)..... not fun stuff like that tower at Clarke and Como.

The closest comparison I can think of is Aura in Toronto. It is a 79 story residential tower with a 10 story podium. Architectural height is 892 feet.

This Lougheed proposal is 80 stories, with a 12 story podium, so very close to Aura but with 2 more stories on the podium (which are taller floors), so a very real potential of breaking the 900' barrier. It would be the tallest building outside Toronto, although there is the Alldritt proposal in Edmonton, but that is not likely to be built. At least not at the proposed height.

Good call, although Aura may have a tall mechanical penthouse.

The public hearing package for the Pinnacle Lougheed site is now up.

https://pub-burnaby.escribemeetings....cumentId=60251

The overall heights on the elevations seem to indicate the official heights are 850 ft and 782 ft

Time for an official topic?

Oh, and we also got renderings for Concord Brentwood Phase 3 in case anyone cares

You're not missing much.
It's pretty much the same design as you've seen in the previous image.

Impressive height, but the design is rather 'blah' ....or 'meh', and pretty generic for my taste - for what's going to be the tallest tower(s) in BC and the tallest residential towers west of Ontario, at least.

I wish they had gotten better architects than JYOM.

It's no coincidence (or accident) that they're having the difficulty they are getting their Granville bridge tower through the UDP panel.

I'll try to grab some of the render images and post them for you a bit later.

Here you go......

Like I said,.....

'meh'

But look, this is just the Rezoning application, which means there still could be some hope of a design refinement (or complete re-do) when they do actually apply for the Design Permit.

Or maybe it's just wishful thinking on my end.

The design relies too much on 'contrast' between the two shades/tints of glass to create colour blocking.
That practically never works.

Thanks! Really appreciated.

The design is definitely nothing spectacular, but they aren’t offensive / ugly either.

I like them more than Gilmore Place.

looks like 8 elevators for the office segment and 8 elevators PER residential tower segment.

very impressive.

On the upper levels (51+) the section of the elevator core for the lower levels seems to be the kitchen/washroom for some units?

I feel like the towers are solid and really this part of the region is at the stage downtown Vancouver was in the early 90's-early 2000s just building more generic towers and I can imagine that in another 10-20 years this part of the region will have more building proposed and built that are more architecturally interesting.

This may be the only Skytrain hub station that will ever see approximately tall towers.

Burnaby needs to get a handle on separating distances asap. The City of Laugheed towers are too close. These and the proposed towers at the NW corner of Laugheed and Willingdon are an insult to livability - especially for projects on relatively 'open' lands.

Exactly, yet even modestly tall towers for the Safeway sight has been a battle that seemingly seems to a stalemate. And don’t get started with the Broadway plan protests…

I'm most excited about the fact that DB will be providing ICE 2 high speed rail service to Lougheed Town Centre Station. I wonder if it will connect to the rest of the DB high speed network in Germany! ...or Lougheed to Waterfront in 2 minutes.

Not just Western Canada, but tallest outside of Toronto.

Stantec Tower in Edmonton completed in 2019, currently holds that claim at 823 ft.

This will obviously surpass it.
