^ So what? If other ppl have a similar viewpoint to mines, great. Personally, I think I'm saying 2+2=4, so it's not like that's a unique concept.
BTW, I notice that person mentioned how sad it was that old properties or bldgs in dtla have been lost through the yrs. I can't think of too many that I wish hadn't been torn down.
Preservationists often cite bunker hill, but most of that was old wood or masonry bldgs that gave LA a sad, poor look. Only a few of them were classic Victorian mansions. Such areas originally actually hurt dtla's image, not helped it. Old sections of South pk have also long been mainly bleak & unimpressive. Then there's skid row.
I used to work in the warehouse area way to the SE of dt, not far from the Coca cola bldg made to look like a ship. That area has always put grit into the word gritty, & sketch into the word sketchy.
DTLA needs a lot more of this than it necessarily needs super talls...
