Yeah, I'd be worried about flooding issues. The record here for snow over the winter is 196cm in 2013 and it was late snow too. I remember three foot snowbanks at the beginning of May. The creek here in Normandy Heights is already up to the banks due to a quick melt. If we get 20cm or more it's going to be a pretty big flood.
The
area South of the creek here is where it tends to flood. I'm sure Rotary Park will be inundated and the houses along 17th avenue may be threatened. There is a fairly large berm along most of it, but not at Rotary Park.
There's some light snow in the air right now, but the storm is about mid-way up North Dakota now. All depends on how far West it trails here. Right now it doesn't look like much, but it usually pushes a bit more West as it develops and there's not supposed to much here until tomorrow morning when it really hits.

As an Atlantic Canadian, I feel I can tease you guys about your impending blizzard. We are no strangers to spring snowstorms down here. In fact, one of the worst blizzards I can recall occurred about 1972 on May 8th. It is seared into my brain because I landed at Halifax International Airport in the middle of it. We were returning from Bermuda, and everyone on board the plane had shorts on. This was in the pre boarding bridge era, and everyone had to make a mad dash across the tarmac to get into the airport terminal.
