Your "Austin After a Storm" photo may be my favorite daytime Austin drone photo ever.

That's definitely one of Austin's most flattering angles.

Hey thank you! I was flying around forever trying to get just the 'right' angle for that one.

Man, even without including anything on Rainey street, it is wild to think how quickly Henry's photoshop went out of date.

Just looking at larger buildings that are either U/C or slated to start this year, you'd have to include:

1. The Linden (17th and Guad) (probably an afterthought here);

2. Block 16;

3. 415 Colorado;

4. 321 West;

5. Hanover Brazos Street;

6. Hanover Republic Square (at least this would be easy to add, since you can copy/paste #5);

7. The rest of Thompson/Tommie (looks partially constructed here);

8. Hyatt Centric Congress;

9. Conrad Residences; and

10. Perennial Tower.

All of that, and that's not including the towers that are less likely to start, and the 7-8 new or U/C buildings in the Rainey Area not shown in this shot....

It almost brings tears to my eyes just seeing all the renderings are already completed, except for the republic.

Trigger warning: I'm on a blue glass tear.

Love that render and can't wait for an updated one with 98 and co. included but daaaaamn that is a sea of blobby blue when you factor in:

Block 16
415 Colorado
321 W. 6th
Hanover Brazos
6th and Rio
Kinda sorta Perennial

Austin's skyline unifying color is definitely blue! I like that many of the buildings relate to neighboring buildings in the color blue hue, however, other colors can be added to the mix as long as the new tower does not shout out Look at Me. Like 98 Red River appears to have three bluish gray tones of glass, but add creamy white and orange. The bluish glass will blend with neighboring towers and in the overall skyline while standing by itself with added color and texture. Now the Shoebill Tower, I forget the listing name, is going solid black and very tall. Thumbing its self at neighboring buildings and the skyline in general while saying, Hey Look at ME. The Shoebill will have big broad tall shoulders and not relate to anything else in the Austin skyline. I object to that.

"Trophy Towers" that stand out and do not relate to other existing buildings is what gets me on a tear.

I hope we get some more towers with the pink granite like the two at the beginning of Congress ave (and of course the capitol bldg and other buildings around the capitol). I think the pink granite mixed with the blue glass of other towers has created a distinctive texture for Austin.

You mean the Block 16 Tower? The new design is blue glass.

I remember talking about purple once. I think that would create a distinct skyline.

I know some of you have never been to the Domain, especially at night so here is a YouTube video you might find interesting...

Great video. I have seen it busier than that. Rock Rose is like a little 6th street. Great food at many of those places they showed in the middle of the video. Have only tried one or two bars but havent been to any of the clubs yet. I might be too old to do that anymore.

I've seen it much busier also, but taking into account it was a Tuesday, and from the look of it, there were storms in the area, it still had pockets of decent crowds, I love the lights in the trees and how they mixed in crushed glass to make the sidewalks sparkle. The Domain is worth the visit. There is a young and diverse vibe there, so yeah, I might be too old to club hop, but not to eat and hit a bar or two.

I think this rendition of 6xGuad is based on its originally shorter height. Whoever did this Photoshop should remake it with the other towers, 5th and Colorado and W 6th, added to this.
