Wow, this really looks great, it's the first time I've seen it. I would hope that the city tries to push for new developments to include significant mixed/open green space (not just trails like along AMLI South Shore) along the river on both sides, and with big parks that essentially sit either side of 35 (Zilker/Auditorium Shores on the west and Guerrero on the east), I hope that the river between MoPac and 183 becomes as iconic as Central Park over the next 50 years.

Beautiful shots! Now we just need some white stone towers to off-set all that blue!

Red, purple... something. I get so tired of blue glass.

I'm starting to like the way our city looks. For years I would complain about how each building going up looks like the others with the same colors. Not saying I want to see tons more of the same, but Austin doesn't look like your typical Texas city and that is what I like about it. I'd like to see some darker greens mixed in and I haven't really bothered looking but would be cool for a pretty yellow glass or even a pinkish glass tower. Green, yellow and pink are my 3 favorite colors lol.

I love looking down this CVC. It is getting so dense and is so well pronounced. Also the lights on Block 185 are continuing to be tested. The lighting will be awesome once it's done!

Agree 100% on both points. It does appear from the little bit of test lighting I've seen that there will be lights on the curved section beneath the smaller strip panels. There is a whole lot that we have not yet seen as far as how it will be lit and it will be able to do so many different types of effects that it will put our night lighted skyline on the next level.

As we get more used to the architecture, the lighting will keep this building fresh with new and changing features we have yet to experience in an area of town that could really use it. It just keeps getting better.

I would also like to see some more green. That's really the best thing about Third + Shoal is the green glass. Spring really stands out because of it. I'd also like to see some more white stone material towers and some black glass towers. Even dark blue isn't good enough, I'm talking black and menacing. There's just something cool about it. And some white stone towers would be a good look with all the glass we have. I'm hopeful for the Ritz looking good being white. Some of my favorite Austin buildings so far have been mostly white - One American Center, 360 Condos, Seaholm Residences, and Windsor on the Park. Even the renovations/repaint jobs that some of the buildings have gotten look good like on the Hilton and The Shore. And even the Quincy, which isn't exactly an exciting building looks simple and clean with the white. And then there is the Hyatt Centric which is mostly all white, and Waterloo with white accents. And there are the Hanover towers that have white. I think we're starting to develop a style there, and one with a bit more diversity. Still, I'd like to see some more solid colored towers that aren't blue.

I feel like all my replies to you are "AGREED" .....so, AGREED! I am really hoping white stone becomes the new trend for Austin and the US. It reflects heat and has a timeless classy look. I'm glad our tallest (98) will at least be mostly white with green/orange accents.

This is part of why I liked the original (second, I guess) design of Block 16. It was something different not only in color but in texture as well with that layered, angled look. I've always quite liked the Bank of America Center with its black vertical glass panels.

And then there are some white re-paint jobs that make an already mediocre building look much, much worse.

Yeah, that would have looked better getting a coat closer to what the Whitley across 3rd Street looks like. Anytime there's a doubt about the authenticity of a building's age and facade's complexity, just paint it a darker color to hide those features.

Ale, bassist of The Warning. They were here for SXSW. Nice little backdrop. This photo was posted on a facebook fanpage, so I'm not sure who took it.
