I knew the tiles facing on the newest addition wouldn't last long.
Canopy above the stairs is new too.
Is/was that a swimming pool in the corner?
That corner screams for an addition to unite the two buildings (but floor heights look different).
While not a big fan of murals, that blank wall would be a good site for a mural.

Seems like it from this notice.

Please note that our indoor pool will be closed for renovations starting October 18, 2021 until further notice. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Brings back memories of friends who lived along there in our 20s. Good times.
McBarge 2.0 should host a rave before it gets dismantled.

Fire in Downtown South @ about 7:00pm tonight.
There are a bunch of flashing red lights at the Law Courts at Hornby & Smithe though.
Wondering if there was something there and smoke drifted southeast?
Pics by me.

Vancouver crews quickly douse ‘spectacular’ fire at downtown restaurant
By Simon Little Global News Posted March 24, 2022 8:04 pm
Vancouver firefighters were able to quickly extinguish a blaze in the city’s central business district that sent a massive cloud of smoke through the area Thursday evening.
Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services Deputy Chief of Operations Trevor Connelly said crews were called to a Japanese barbeque restaurant at 888 Nelson St. around 7 p.m., where a fire had broken out in the kitchen.
The demolition of the Bonnis properties in the 900 block of Granville will no doubt now take even longer. They've been pretty slow, and they've still managed to punch a hole in the wall of the Roxy, next door which means the club will be closed for at least 2 weeks to make repairs.
After being closed for 18 months during the COVID-19 pandemic, Vancouver’s Roxy Cabaret was finally getting rolling again.
But then Thursday morning, construction workers next door inadvertently punched a hole in the club’s southern wall.
“We have a big construction zone right next door to us,” explained the Roxy’s promotions manager Kirsten Lindahl.
“While they were demoing the building next to us, there was a little bit of a mishap and the demo broke through one of our walls, a connecting wall. The women’s washroom looks pretty demoed at the moment.”
As a result the Roxy is closing until the wall and washroom can be fixed.
