Great shots! Insane how much that skyline has changed in the last 10 years. And how much it will change in the next 5.

And amazingly, the majority of Rainey's development is just out of those images on the right.

These newer towers in Austin seem so mismatched within themselves. Like is the case with the new supertall, there's no cohesion between the building's bottom, middle, and top, and speaking of the top, it appears unfinished.

I love the height and the density but I wish more care went into the aesthetic of the towers themselves.

For whatever reason, each use of the mixed-use towers seems to have it's own style.

Skyline is just gorgeous! Austinites and Nashvillians(is that what they're called) are spoiled with so many towers and proposals!

I think it's deliberate design by architects lately. THey are trying to differentiate the programs of the tower visually - the parking/base, hotel, office, & reisdneital are all designed to look different. Whether you love it or hate it, it's definitely a trend that's emerging especially with lots of new buildings proposed for DT austin.

Yeah. It's not a pleasant trend.

Totally agree. There's only a handful of Austin buildings I like, the rest just seem thrown up for the sake of it.

I like it, but I'm hoping the ATX Towers proposal a few blocks north goes through a redesign. I'd rather not have three towers on east/west axes with sloped roofs. And we already have Indeed Tower that is similar.

I'm just glad Austin's skyline isn't bland like Honolulu's, ugh!

I mean, if they all looked alike, everyone would be complaining that they're all cookie cutter buildings. What the hell, man... people are just never happy. lol

I do like it. It's weird. Which is a good thing in Austin. Cool feature with the balconies.

I'm not crazy about the top. I just wonder why architects can't just do a pointy top anymore. Just make it pointy, bros. And use different materials.

Perennial Tower Sprouts Downtown at Fourth and Brazos This Summer

Quote:
The first of two tower projects by local real estate firm Cielo Property Group set to transform a full downtown Austin block will break ground this year, according to an announcement from the developers. With Cielo now in control of the block between Fourth Street, Fifth Street, Brazos Street, and San Jacinto Boulevard, the first phase of the site’s development will commence on the southern half of the tract currently occupied by event venue Brazos Hall and a small office building, with a 46-story, 750,000-square-foot office tower planned to break ground at this site before the end of summer 2022. The project, which recently received an approval of its site plan from the City of Austin, is scheduled for completion in late 2025.

Think thats one of the nicest towers Austin has gotten yet. Much more refined than some of the others that have sprouted up.
