Old Oak has poured the final bit of ground floor slab where the tower crane stood at their Mosiak project on Sugarcreek. Windows and balconies now installed to 2nd floor.

LFP article on the NIMBYISM at Planning Committee this week.

QUOTE=MrSlippery519;9351236]Wow most of those arguments are pretty terrible, if you are going to show up to a planning meeting to oppose a development at least take the time to research the matter and prepare a valid argument.

The development at Commissioners/Viscount will "endanger our property and our lives" wow that is dramatic. The commercial businesses and multiple apartments directly across the street are okay though?[/QUOTE]

Saw a sign on Wharncliffe South that Dalmar Motors VW is moving next year from their current spot at Wharncliffe and Base Line. New location is at the corner of Wharncliffe and Bradley, right beside the new Porsche dealer. Doesn't strike me as all that long ago that Dalmar renovated their old dealership, maybe around the time they built the new Audi dealer next door. I wonder what they plan to do there? I'm guessing just rip it down to make more space for Audi, as those 2 dealerships together are pretty tightly packed. I wonder if Prossler regrets building the Audi on that lot now, given how far south the Golden Auto Mile has gone. Audi is going to be on it's own north of Commissioners now, and it's a brand that seems better matched for the south of Southdale stretch with those higher end dealers. Maybe they figure Audi is a brand people are specifically shopping for, rather than the tire kickers like me who start at one end, and hit the Kia, Hyundai, Ford and Dodge lots lol.

Heavy equipment now on site at the NW corner of Sunningdale and Richmond. Concrete sewer pipes on site as it appears they are installing the underground services for this block. Based on previous news this is supposed to be retail commercial space. Wonder who the prime tenants may be?

That one seemed to have flown under the radar if it was announced a couple years ago. A mall seems like a strange location for a hotel like that, but whatever works I guess. I know there was talk a while back of a similar size and style hotel down at Talbot and St George St but not sure if there was anything to that when I saw it on a St Thomas facebook group.

Forming for the foundation walls is well underway at SE corner of Oxford and Wonderland in the parking lot west of the new Starbucks and Shelby's. Another building is going in here but no signs of who might be the tenants.

Old Oak is now finishing up the 5th floor windows and balcony unit installation on the Mosiak building on Sugarcreek. Exterior concrete finishing is also moving fast. Interior partition walls are nearly finished so the electrical, HVAC and plumbing rough ins should be wrapping up soon. Should see drywall going up in Oct and the first tenants before year end.

I know this is a bit of a bump, but just bought a car at Dalmars. From what the sales lady told me, they will use the remaining lot for the Audi dealership, IE extra parking or another garage. That dealership has been in place since the 60s, and they didn't really renovate, just redid it a bit to connect the old Audi part of the dealership.

Steel now going up for the new Burger King on Wonderland Rd N at Sherwood Forest Mall. They have a sign on the construction fencing finally. It appears they have more room to the north for another parking pad building if they find a tenant in the future.

Interesting LFP article on speeding up the development processes including hiring more staff at City Hall. Is the issue lack of staff or too much bureaucracy and paper work to navigate thru? Streamlining the processes and adding online capabilities should be looked at for sure. What do other countries and jurisdictions do? What are their best practices?

there is still the long-vacant former LCBO at the south end of the plaza, across from the entrance to Medway arena.

Alot of site prep work now starting on both sides of Huron Street east of Clarke Rd near the VMP intersection. Lands on the SW corner have a sign up with City of London industrial lands available. While the parcel on the north side of Huron may be Dancor. Just to the west is the vacant Westinghouse factory and lands that have sat empty for decades. Apparently demand is at a high point for warehousing space. Wonder who may go here in the future.
