The soaring population of Strathroy & MC reflects London's fast growth.

It will require some major investments from the areas including a twinning of road between Commissioners and the 402, a commuter bus system, and a major new high school.

The latter is key and already overdue. SDCI is already at capacity and the town is growing fast. Much of this is due to the huge area that SDCI caters to. A high school in Komoka would not only serve Kom/Kil but also Delaware and Mt.Brydges. As it stands right now, Kilworth, in the older part of the village, kids still go to Westmount. Such a school would bring a needed would greatly reduce the overcrowding at SDCI.

TVDSB HS enrolment numbers - https://www.tvdsb.ca/en/our-board/resour...2020/SecondaryEnrolment_Web_20201031.pdf

Generally school boards were seeing declining enrolments across most boards for years. They may have stabilized in the few last years. Those trends may have bottomed out with recent surges of immigration.

Old Oak and CF have now poured some of the 4th floor walls on their Mosiak building on Sugarcreek. Will likely have the 5th and final floor slab poured by end of May.

Old Oaks have finished the 5th floor wall pours. Today they were pouring the 5th floor roof on the west end of their Mosiak building on Sugarcreek. Should have the rest of roof poured by end of next week and forming up for mechanical penthouse. The previous Mosiak building already appears to have some tenants living there as the landscaping is now going in.

Still need to complete the ground level steel rebar and concrete pour on the underground parking on the south side of building. The tower crane base hole has to be completed once it is removed as well. This will complete the concrete work on the Mosiak building.

Old Oaks poured the west side of the ground floor slab over the parking level at their Mosiak building today. Still need to finish up with the tower crane to remove it to finish the portion of the parking garage where it stands. Good progress on the window and balcony door installations as well.

Couple of small commercial properties getting underway. The hole is being dug for the Starbucks at Hamilton and Highbury. Also one of the foundations has been put in at the southwest corner of Colonel Talbot and Pack Rd where a Petro Canada gas station, car wash and A&W is going in.

The Petro Canada and A&W has a sign up on Colonel Talbot. The Hamilton and Highbury Starbucks was in a link from the city planning site someone posted here some time back.

Nimbyism runs rampant at Planning Committee yesterday. At least the committee voted to move these proposals ahead to future council meeting.

Wow most of those arguments are pretty terrible, if you are going to show up to a planning meeting to oppose a development at least take the time to research the matter and prepare a valid argument.

The development at Commissioners/Viscount will "endanger our property and our lives" wow that is dramatic. The commercial businesses and multiple apartments directly across the street are okay though?
