Thoughts on solutions? Or keep trucking on the same old path lol. I assume it’ll naturally grow faster with quite a few of the condo announcements, construction of a vibrant library and arena district, but how do we spur more disincentives away from surface parking lot growth?
This past week I got like zero sleep because these surface parking lot owners think that it’s ok to clear snow at 3am continually, and garbage trucks come to the downtown at 7am, residential street rut shaving has occurred in the richer neighborhoods like stonebridge, but still hasn’t happened in more population dense/heavier taxed residential areas of our downtown. I’m 100% over living downtown unfortunately lol. Our city council doesn’t care about downtown - the downtown councillor and mayor are entirely focused on Nutana suburb - an oxymoron suburb compared to downtown.
I personally am leaving for Calgary very soon for their nicer weather, better flights for work, cheaper housing - but I would say these stats are partially wrong as of recent. Our condo building only has 2 units for sale today vs maybe 30 for sale this time last year. It’s a seller market for downtown condos in Saskatoon!
