That section along the CPR tracks (along 9th and 10th aves) is still a scar on the skyline. Hopefully more development occurs, though the Marriott and those new condos U/C in that pic will help. The north downtown side is even worse.
Whos bragging?

Another similar shot, different angle.

Texas, I think of an island or two with each tower occupying its own block surrounded by streets in a sea of surface parking. The rail corridor is a river of parking through density divided into larger blocks.

This is probably early 2015, judging by the progress on the Regency and 150 Main West (and the William Thomas building north of the Lister yet to begin). Lots of change since then, much more to come.

EDIT: the escarpment mostly in shadow almost looks like a river.

A river of broken dreams and heartache coursing through the steel veins of this once mighty industrial city.

Sorry, I was feeling poetic.

This got lost in the video thread. Figured it was worth a post here while the video is still new.

These guys are insane. The guy that uses Eau du Soleil as a ski jump is extra nuts. Best watched large.

I'm not one to encourage selfish entitled twats doing moronic things. With that said, of course, it's Ice Towers featured in the video.

ICE, Au Du Sol, 88 Scott Street, Scotia Plaza, and Wellsley on the Park to name a few. But only us skyscraper nerds would know buildings names.

Everybody, not just skyscraper junkies, knows about ICE Condos in Toronto because it's arguably the worst place to live and is frequently featured in videos showcasing just how awful it is in just about every aspect.

The first one is a gorgeous image -- Autumn colours and skylines go SO well together.

The third makes QC feel like Montreal, to me.

That third pic of Quebec city is the best or at least one of the best angles for a skyline pic of the city. Not fond of the towers, but from this angle it gives big city vibes.

Love me some QC.... thanks for sharing the great photos!

Love that blend of brutalism / concrete modernism and old world architecture. Quebec pulls it off well imo.

I had no idea ICE had such a bad rep.

Quote:
If you live in Toronto, you almost certainly know of the ICE condominium complex — whether because at one point you popped by for an afterparty, visited a friend staying an an Airbnb, or read about any of the various shootings, stabbings and other crimes that have taken place on-site.

Horror stories can be found all over the internet about the two-tower complex in Toronto's South Core neighbourhood, but a recent pair of TikTok dispatches from a former resident really take the cake in showing how hellish it can be to live within the city's most-notorious ghost hotel.

I'm talking hours-long waits for elevators, constant late night fire alarms, stairways filled with rotten garbage, and lots of stray bullets flying around, many of which were never reported.

[...]

It didn't take long for her to regret signing the $2,600 a month lease.

wtf.
