That is excellent news.
Are all 4 lanes open?
Is it paved?

It doesn't sound like it's 100% back to normal but has reopened here's some quotes:

"Temporary repairs to the route are now in place"
"Traffic pattern changes and reduced speed limits will be in effect"
"This is not the Coquihalla as we know it".

Heading back to Regina from Victoria tomorrow. So I'll see how the drive up the Coq really is.

I imagine another factor is now the holiday travel factor is behind us, and they're getting highway 1 back open too through the Fraser Canyon. So, the highway system is slooooowly lurching back to functionality, and hey, I don't blame them -- they're doing all these repairs in the dead of winter.

The real challenge is going to be if the permanent repairs drag out through the entire summer -- that will make summer holiday travel challenging, especially with the towed RVs jostling with 18-wheelers. Lets hope this torrid pace of 'sooner-than-expect' continues with these repairs.

I have no insight into whether they're going to be changing any designs on these structures to cope with higher return-frequency streamflow events with these repairs. Anyone know if that factors in? If so, it will make permanent repairs take longer for sure.

With as little as I know about how bad it is, I would fully expect that this summer will be a nightmare on any of the highways affected.

Thank you! In my opinion, this road is in the Top 10 roads to see in Québec. The entire length of it between Québec City and Saguenay is worth seeing in both directions. They improved this road alot in the past decades, so, it is even more a pleasant drive now...and safer, now that fences have been installed to prevent accidents with the wildlife, especially moose!
