I think AC and WJA and Transat were all changing their overall schedules last week. Perhaps it was not working Friday for that reason. But AC seems good now.

I’m just excited for the day that all the flights from Regina to Toronto are A220-300’s. I’ve had more than my fill of the current CRJ900. Hate it.

Fully agreed. They're continuing to fly them YQR-YVR but for the longer routes like YQR-YYZ it needs to be roomier than a CRJ.

Nothing against the Jazz crews exactly but the food options etc all seem better with Mainline AC crews.

The plane isn't the problem - the cramped seating was.

When they called it the CRJ-705 and they had several fewer rows in it, it was the roomiest aircraft in economy class in the entire fleet.

The overhead bin space has always been a little limited, but I don't try to bring actual suitcases on board. I always check them. The only bags I bring on board are a briefcase and sometimes a camera bag.

My actual issue lies with the rear bathroom size.

If you're in J class they will store your suitcase in the front closet. My personal favorite seat is 12A. About 3' of Legroom which is good...... Baggage space is always a problem though and yes the bathroom is extremely cramped.

I typically spend less than three minutes per flight on average in a bathroom, so as long as there's a toilet and a sink and it's available when I need it, I'm good. I can't imagine I'd ever choose an aircraft based on the lavatories.

But some lavs don't have sinks. I've been on turboprops that just have clean-wipes and hand-sani for you to use. I hate that, if the tiny bathroom wasn't bad enough then that griminess makes it worse. I would happily choose another flight using different aircraft if a reasonable alternative exists.

Lol. I love that your comment makes it sound like I don’t like the CRJ900 because I plan to sit in the bathroom the entire flight.

Anyways. The A220-300 is a better, more “spacious bathroom” aircraft with a fantastic layout and will be an absolute upgrade on both the Regina and Saskatoon flights to YYZ once more deliveries are made to Air Canada.

The A220's cabin is pretty decent. This is AC.

I look forward to flying on the A220 - it does look nice. I always used to like 2+3 seating when we used to have it (Boeing 727s, I think, had it. Maybe McDonnell-Douglas DC-9s too.)

I think it will still be awhile before I brave aircraft, but when the dust has settled, I think the A220 will be a nice experience. I miss baseball weekends in Toronto.

You're thinking of Air Canada's DC-9s which had the 2+3 seating.

I often flew on AC's 727s to Toronto in the 1980's, and at that time they had 3+3 seating. Back then AC had 'Connoisseur Class' which was an early version of business class. It occupied the first several rows of seats. The only difference was that the middle seats were blocked out (which was nice, but not worth the premium. At least I didn't have to pay the fare, as my employer did that.

I loved the DC-9s and 727s, especially if you sat closer to the front, away from the engines.

Funny you should say this. I was unfortunate to be seated at the back of a CR9 a few months back YVR-YQR. I couldn't believe the noise from the engines. It was horrendous. Normally around Row 12 its very quiet compared....

Me too. We won't be flying anytime soon because of the virus and all the head aches of testing and changing rules. But I look forward to these new A220s

Feds are have been hinting at the fact they are going to remove the pre-departure test early next week. WestJet would know better than us.

This is likely a way of cancelling some flights that were not working out, and make the testing be the reason.
