The train track is adjacent to the new Eclipse development. Any units facing the track will be loud considering how the CPR/CNR trains honk their horns whenever they're in the city.

There are 3 condo projects in the same situation:

Eclipse
Tailor (just to the west across the street)
Alaska (west of Willingdon)

Not sure who would buy so close to the tracks, but at least their views to the south would be unobstructed.
Then again, I guess that all of the towers in the general area would be subjected to the noise.

Yet people complain about sky train noise, wonder which is worse?

And yes, unobstructed views of the beautiful Costco parking lot and the vibrant Highway 1.

Trains, obviously.
Skytrains cars don't have horns - which is about the worst thing about living next to a railway track, and specifically a railway crossing.

Much much worse.
They are designed to be heard from miles away, practically.

I lived near a rail crossing once and while you could eventually learn to tune out the engine sound, your brain could never adjust to that loud blaring horn whose only purpose is to warn anyone or anything that if you're on the track at a crossing when its passing, you're pretty much dead.
Since those freight trains can't stop on demand, and have to start braking from miles away.

They are removing the Douglas Road crossing, but adding storage tracks in the area.

Developer probably sees cost to build go up substantially if they decided to wait. So they wanted to keep costs as low as possible & build sooner rather than later. Presales are getting hot again and probably in 2022 will continue.

Not directly related but I saw a new luffing crane up just west of this complex. I only saw it from the highway but couldn't think what project it is for?

If I'm seeing that last image correctly, wow! that's one thick slab, I don't understand the purpose of it, but if lots of concrete is involved, I like it. (never seen anything like it before)

That one is by Alaska St and Alpha Ave. Just west of this development
