You combine the name change with the Covid fiasco and add in the fact they are just a bad losing team - this is where we are at now.

No identity equals no loyalty equals no fans.

Decent win over there Canucks with two BIG late saves by MK. Connor should have had 3 more if not for the very solid Demo.

lol the name change was the best thing to happen to the team this year. Better logo and overall marketing.

The real issue is the administration - Sunderland needed to go yesterday. The shipping out of Trevor Harris, failure to resign Mike Reilly, firing of Mandrusiak last year, news about keeping Joey Moss out of the locker room, unvaccinated player fiasco earlier this season...

And you think it's the new logo's fault?

I am saying the name change may have had an effect off the field in ticket sales - especially the hard core season ticket holders who were not happy with the change and did not renew.

But certainly all the things you mentioned just aggravated the situation further and turn the fans off as well.

It certainly has. Reading on sports forums with regards to the Elks, lots of people didn't renew because they were upset with the change.

Sunderland as a whole is the issue. Trading Harris was ok by me as he was done here anyways. 35 years old and the QB we just got, Arbuckle, is 28 and has shown to be somewhat competent at QB.

They need to refresh big time for next season otherwise the fans will stay away.

And yes, COVID has kept people away too. No denying that.

Eichel to LV. Almost went to Calgary, that would have been interesting.

He doesn’t do well when they play him so much. They have to rotate him out Hopefully Smith is back soon.

I heard Edmonton once had an amazing ice hockey team. Is that true?

I'm talking like THE greatest players ever, all on one team. Was that Edmonton Canada or was it elsewhere?

I'm pretty sure the best hockey team wouldn't be from the UK

Goaltending is still a problem with this team because of Koskinan’s inconsistency and Smith’s age.

Whether it’s someone coming up through their farm system or a trade they need a proven goaltender, especially if they want to go deep into the playoffs.

Something has to be done for sure. In the regular season it’s fine to lose the odd game because of goaltending, but not in the playoffs. At this point they’re looking for Koskinen not to lose them games. In order to get a sniff at the cup you need the goalie to win you some games. They’ll be buyers at the deadline.
