When I was driving by this afternoon I saw them moving the parts for the second crane into place ....it is going up ...if not today then tomorrow

I don't think they'll do it over the weekend. It'll be done Monday, I think they're just setting up the crane to make it easy for Monday.

They are definitely preparing to install the second crane, likely tomorrow. All of the parts seem to be in position on the west side of the site.

This one seems to be going up really quickly, which I feel is typical for university funded builds. I'm excited to see this one progress. Wonder when we'll reach grade level

* As of now, the entire outside parking that is linked to the Marquee Residence is fenced off for trades workers and such for this project.

They've cut King St. down to two lanes and Bay down to maybe one as they brought a few cement trucks onto the site, the foundation's being poured today.

Just generally I love how lax Hamilton is on lane closures compared to toronto. Half the developments downtown have an entire street closed for staging space - that would never ever happen in Toronto haha.

Better get used to it on King St. Once the LRT is built it will only be one lane in each direction.

I imagine if the developments do take off in a big way the city will need to implement a policy about that.

It's not an issue we've really had to worry about for a number of decades.

Honestly I’m not complaining, the lane and road closures they’ve implemented haven’t been a big deal or really impacted traffic much. The worst one is actually the one on Main near Ottawa, and it’s really not bad at all. Hamilton just doesn’t have bad enough traffic for lane and road closures to really cause issues. It’s just more so entertaining to me that Hamilton is so comparatively permissive to Toronto. Toronto has also gotten a lot stricter in recent years with lane closures as well, John Tory cut back on allowing them a lot.

Actually I think the lane closures show how overbuilt Hamilton's car infrastructure is. Once High son is reopened it should be limited traffic and pedestrian focused since it's been closed for like 2 or 3 years now without major issues.

That's actually an old picture of Marquee Residence. Was hurting my brain there for a sec trying to figure out from where that picture was taken haha, realized it wasn't McMaster Grad Residences.
