I would assume at this stage it’s dropped.

Condor booking engine indicates “no direct flights available.”

Looks increasingly likely KLM, Edelweiss and Eurowings Discover will be the only long-haul Intl airlines flying out of YYC next summer.

Summer 2022 is still a long away though…
Fair! WS is probably the only airline who'll meaningfully increase international ops from YYC now.

The Condor flights are loaded in the GDS, but currently show no available inventory.

I also asked around, and it sounds like it hasn't been determined yet. S22 is still miles away, so nothing set in stone yet.

YYC through DFW to and from MEX late Oct. Flights looked about 25-30% full at the moment outbound and a bit higher back when picking seats today but obviously not that representative.

Condor has re-opened selected classes for booking once again for S22.

Did you literally post this in every airport thread on the forum?

Why?

Delta resumes SLC-YYC tonight bringing their total presence to 3x daily.

By July were currently looking at up to 15x weekly to FRA. AC/EW will probably be fine as they'll feed onward connections.

Not sure about Condor though.

---
S22 TATAL so far:

AC FRA 1x daily
AC LHR 1x daily
WS LGW 1x daily
WS CDG 1x daily
KL AMS 1x daily
EW FRA Up to 5x weekly
WS FCO 3x weekly
WS DUB 3x weekly
DE FRA 3x weekly
WK ZRH 2x weekly

I'd imagine WS primary goal is keeping AMS. I'm not sold on them adding any more routes for next summer yet.

It's way too early to be talking about this but do you see any TATL changes at WS for next winter?

Other than maybe CDG going year-round, not too sure. Maybe even increase LGW to daily year-round?

Will be interesting to see if WS gets slots for S22.

AMS is capped at 500,000 annual movements. For S22, the number has been set to 311,880. That number may increase, based on the number of movements registered during the upcoming W21 season.

Some key dates for AMS slots for S22.

Initial slot submission deadline for S22 was last week. Oct 7
Slot allocation deadline for S22 is Nov 4.
Slot return deadline for S22 is Jan 15.

WS won't know if it got slots until next year.

Sunwing launches its winter schedule out of YYC on Thursday with a YYC-CUN flight. By the beginning of November they will be operating flights from YYC to CUN, PVR, SJD, VRA and PUJ with plans to add further destinations in December.

WestJet possibly might add direct flights✈️ between Calgary & Thunder Bay again at some point? Previously it was operated during the Summer.

In the CBC article mention, the airline is looking into it.

I saw that article a while ago, but I'm not sure if WS means it or if they were trying to make the YQT people happy.

However I definitely see this route happening at some point again, considering WS tried it a few years back and with their strategy of starting interesting leisure flights from YYC (eg YYC-BOS/BNA/AUS/YYG/YQB)

What would the flight times look like, to max yield. Connect to the European departures arrivals bank/late morning USA departures bank?

So 8:45am arrival? Leave TB at 7:45, and fly to and overnight after the European arrivals.
