Also in case anybody missed it Condor removed YYC for S22. Eurowings comes in S22 at about 5x weekly though so not really a big deal, if anything still an increase.

https://www.routesonline.com/news/29/bre...transatlantic-rebound-as-canada-reopens/

A few quotes on WS Transatlantic recovery.

Quote:
That cautious approach entails building up long-haul service from WestJet’s hubs in Calgary (YYC), Toronto Pearson (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR). Sims explained the airline was “trying to make sure we fly a broad swath of European destinations built around Central European hubs.”
Quote:
Sims cited WestJet’s recent launch from YYC to Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS), a route that already has “astonishing load factors.”
Quote:
That service gives WestJet the confidence to start flying to destinations like Dublin (DUB) and Rome (FCO) in the future, Sims said
If WS gets slots to keep AMS next summer, they could potential serve up to 5 Europe destinations (from YYC).

Do you think they'll add more destinations from YYC next summer(besides FCO)?

At this stage it looks like Lufthansa metal will be operating the flights to FRA not Eurowings.
In any event, KLM, Lufthansa and Edelweiss appear to be the only long-haul foreign airlines operating in S22. However S22 is still a long way off.
By Condor dropping flights now though certainly indicates their intention.

YYC-FRA certainly can't support 3 carriers. Condor was bound to leave. Edelweiss seems to serve a European tourist client base, so they're probably fine at 2x weekly in the peak of summer.

In Europe? Too soon to say.

They also have BOS still scheduled to launch for next summer as well.

Yes & I’m quite interested to see what new WestJet International routes they are planning for it’s 4 remaining 787’s eventually.

AC adjusted its November Transborder schedule.

PHX - 5x weekly CRA (downguaged from mainline 320)
SFO - 1x daily CRA (was previously removed)
LAS - 4x weekly 7M8

Also looks like LAX has been canned for December as well.

I'm still surprised AC/UA still continue to push back IAH, leaving it solely to WS for now.

International wise:
CUN - 5x weekly 7M8
FRA - 4x weekly 789
LHR - 3x weekly 789

They've also removed PVR/SJD for November as well.

Highly likely Eurowings Discover operates to both YYC and YHZ next summer, and not LH mainline.

Are you sure about this? YYC is still listed here at 3x weekly on Mon / Thu / Sat (which are actually the same op days EW/LH currently have as well).

https://www.condor.com/eu/generated/timetable_S2022.pdf

Previously Condor planned 2x weekly on Tue / Fri which could be why it appeared to have been removed? It also looks like they've adjusted op days for all of their Canadian routes for S22.

To my knowledge, flights aren't bookable, even with the new operating days.

Those pdf timetables aren't really updated after they are initially posted, even if the date at the bottom of the pages says they are. Heck, their website needs updating too. YEG is still listed as a new destination.

I could definitely be wrong. What I find odd is that YXY, YHZ,YVR etc are all still bookable but just not YYC, even with the updated schedules.

I clicked that pdf link yesterday, and it was showing yesterday's date on the bottom of each page. If you click it today, you'll notice it will show today's date at the bottom of each page.

Clearly an autofill. Reinforcing my point that those pdf's are not updated.

I see that now as well. More than likely YYC was dropped then?

Even *if* Conder Airlines ✈️ did drop Calgary- Frankfurt, Germany for next Summer is not that big of a deal or problem,as Air Canada (AC) plans to operate the Boeing 777 between Calgary YYC & Frankfurt like they have previously during Summers, which means additional capacity.

Eurowings / Lufhansa seasonal flights will also fill the void.

Also interested to see what WestJet (WS) does for Europe next Summer from Calgary YYC its largest Hub in Canada *if*Calgary- Amsterdam flights doesn't return next summer?

As it would leave open a WestJet 787 aircraft available to do a New Europe destination seasonally, example: Munich Germany likely be 1 they consider starting up at some point from YYC.

Definitely not bookable on any platform.

I would assume at this stage it’s dropped.

Condor booking engine indicates “no direct flights available.”

Looks increasingly likely KLM, Edelweiss and Eurowings Discover will be the only long-haul Intl airlines flying out of YYC next summer.

Summer 2022 is still a long away though…

Looks like United Airlines ✈️ has now pushed back Calgary- Chicago flights from December 16 to January 4 2022 - *more changes could still be possible*.

While (F8) Flair Airlines Calgary - Phoenix Mesa & Las Vegas, US Winter Seasonal flights 2-3 weekly is still scheduled to start Mid December 2021 and operate to end of March 2022.
