Please no. I'd hate to see Hamilton ever have a "Dundas Square" intersection unless it were at York and Bay in front of the arena.

Also that section of buildings is great. They've been bastardized in sections, but it would be great to maintain them or at the least the facades and incorporate them into a building. Yonge and Dundas square was a sad attempt to copy Times Square with none of what makes the real Times Square actually shine. That and Times Square is a tourist trap and filled with what makes North America so cheap feeling; ads everywhere.

I don't even think I'd want that. Not sure it would serve much purpose here.

The buildings fronting King just west of Bay deserve to stay. I don't even want to see them remain as facades, and would rather see them let be. Build behind them by all means, but there's little left on King W. that is "old"... I think they deserve to stay intact.

Hamilton has been hurt enough by the decimation of dozens of streets razed to build the abomination that is Jackson Square and to widen York. Hamilton is one city that should try to keep anything from it's historic past.

Though I do recall there being structural issues with these buildings according to another forumer on another thread. Someone could fix them, but it would big $$$

Hamilton has a 'Dundas Square' already. It's Gore Park. Once the LRT goes in and traffic is calmed as well as some more new high rises up around it, it will probably be one of the best urban squares in the country.

I like the aerial perspective of this shot because it shows off the perimeter of the building footprint with the shoring piles.

I'll be updating the angle regularly.

Those are going to be really wide sidewalks along King and Bay! Nice to see that for a change in this city.

This is a pedestrian focus area in the secondary plan, also why it's so unfortunate that both proposals between Bay and Caroline have no commercial at all, just lobbies.

Your images aren't working.

Upload to imgur then copy the bbcode link is the easiest way to upload I find.

Without the wood pile, one might think this was a shot from the day after an early Frosh Week party.
