There was a crane being erected at the Dilawri dealership site at Fourth and Burrard on the weekend. The excavation was pretty deep, I guess they're going to be storing a lot of vehicles there!

in the article, I read it says it will be relocated to another area in the city, but that part was not known yet as to where.

Sounded like Great Northern Way, but it'd have to be a fair distance from the EastVan sign to not clash since they are both similar vertical expressions.

Aspinall hopes she and Bowcott will be able to help choose the new location.

“It will be a different piece with a different backdrop … and we will remain curious to see what the city does,” said Aspinall. “But we are really happy that the sculpture is getting the proper maintenance and is getting refurbished — so that’s exciting.”

[B"The city had proposed Knight Street and Southeast Marine Drive, and I think that would be awful down there," he said.

Bowcott says he heard the suggestion that the sculpture would eventually sit on Great Northern Way instead, and was in favour of eventually moving it there.

Fredericksen says the city now fully owns the piece, so the location is ultimately up to them, but they have been in consultation with Bowcott about potential sites.

Should place that embarrassment in front of Busters tow yard near Terminal. Would be free advertising for them: "If your car looks like these, we can tow it away for you."

North American lumber companies may have added too much production, too quickly, as demand cools and prices for the construction material plunge. After more than quadrupling in 12 months to record highs, lumber has sunk about 70 per cent since May. The crunch is particularly acute in Western Canada because of higher costs.

The big softwood lumber market correction of summer 2021 continued, however the drops in some benchmark lumber prices slowed while others corrected upward yet more. Underpinning overall market conditions was ongoing quite strong U.S. construction activity and very severe wildfires in the important timber supply baskets of British Columbia and the U.S. Pacific Northwest. Meanwhile, powerful storms hammering the U.S. south and east were ongoing. The aftermath of these will require solid wood building materials for the necessary rebuilding. For their part, lumber suppliers were more interested in extending order files and booking sales for coming weeks than in getting the highest price possible for their goods.
