The story siad there would be a pause in consuctruction, so I think the space would be redesigned before construction continued. Whether the grocery store would end up on the 2nd level or underground, I don't know.
There's a bit of space underground on the Granville side and the north side of the "Concourse" level, it seems, but not alot.
It would be cool, however, if the store had an entrance into the station just outside the faregates on the Concourse level.

Unless they moved required parking off-site wouldn't that kind of be hard to do without digging down another level?

True, unless they reduce the parking requirement (since it's a rental apartment), but the more likely scenario would be a 2nd floor grocery store.

Compare and contrast with Cambie St and Marine Dr. From 2011 to 2021 this area has completely changed in just the last ten years.

While Broadway and Commercial is still largely the same after a longer time period.

Looks like a couple cranes will be coming soon for the MIRHPPs at 3600 and 3680 E Hastings. This photo shows the latter, which according to Google Streetview, still had a building on it as recently as February this year (the former was already cleared by that point).

I get referenced to that phenomenon “Walkie-Scorchie” (Walkie-Talkie tower) whenever I post Alberni on Imgur. Just last week Alberni by Kengo Kuma - 9 more floors to go
Always though it was a one-off thing. Might be more common then I think.

I don't think they've even looked at the facade of Alberni or that the fact the curved portion faces north.
