So happy that both parties committed funding to this project. It was looking bleak a few months ago. 1 phase for the entire project is the way to go, there were a few prominent individuals suggesting otherwise but Fraser Hwy is only getting more congested and seeing massive growth between 178th and 192nd.

From what I recall reading, there are a few technical challenges involved due to the terrain. There's a steep setback leading into a culvert on the south side of Fraser Hwy just EB on 140th. Additionally, the portion between 140th and 138th St will require property acquisition and retaining walls to be built on the south side near a old subsidized housing complex.
I just hope the proposal of 1.75m lane widths goes away. Should be min 2.2m. It's been studied that decreased lane widths in urban settings contribute to more fender benders.
