Maybe, maybe not - IIRC Andrew Scheer campaigned three years ago on slashing infrastructure funding.

Are you talking about the infrastructure bank closure promise? I think it's a stretch to frame him as being anti-infrastructure just because he wants to pretend to be fiscally responsible on federal spending on infrastructure spending.

To further this, O'Toole tweeted yesterday the Conservatives would fund the project as well.

Just to note, the $1.3Bil also covers 30 additional SkyTrain cars, which adds to the 205 already procured, for a total of 235 cars incoming.

Three transit exchanges are also included in this announcement. Fleetwood, Langley, and I want to guess Clayton.

I'm really happy to see this announcement go through

Little does the region know, this project (along with the Millennium line to UBC [whenever that happens

]) will really help the metro region recover its economy as a whole.

SLS will really open up the municipalities SOF to really take advantage of COV's short-comings such as possibly offering larger floor-plate office spaces so long as the SOF municipalities rework and reserve space for such developments.

Different one - IIRC he used the "Libs are overspending" line in the debate, then JT's campaign tried to make him commit to specific cuts, and eventually he settled on $18 billion from transit projects (possibly including the Broadway extension).

As long as the feds are willing to fund two lines every seven years instead of one... which is unlikely for anybody west of Thunder Bay.

Calgary's C-line got funding too. CPC is trying to make inroads on the Lower Mainland, I've been getting flyers already, so the LPC has to step up a bit.

In the contract it says they’ll be doing a separate bid for 138th to 96th in late 2021 for a 2022 start. I’m surprised it’s not all being done at once.

I recall the City's capital plan looking at having this part go first, but I think there's now cause to have it go a bit later, because the 140 Street Station and a pocket track will be built in the median along this part of the roadway.

I think there's also a presumption that some volume turns onto/from 96th Avenue (to access the hospital, although it does form a half-decent alternate route to KGB).

I remember seeing an awful plan to have the pocket track on bents above the eastbound lanes.
Is that still planned?
