Don't they already have a term for this item? I believe it's called a SKORT: skirt and shorts combined.

Wouldn't pay so much money for something so ugly though: that's just me.

The 2 retail spaces on Robson between Paramount and HMart at L'Aria on Robson as For Lease.
One was a hairdresser, the other a noodle (?) place.

Also at L'Atelier, the Memphis Blues is papered over - looks like they've closed down.

DankMart is opening a 2nd location in the old Triple O's spot under the Red Robins on Thurlow @ Robson

Lucky Bodega is opening a 2nd location next to the Duffins Donuts on 41st@Knight beside the cannabis store on that block.

the old Starbucks Roasters on main is Leased.

It looks like that Korean brand Louis Castel is no longer going in at Brentwood. The coming soon signage is gone from that space and its not listed on the signage on the boards in the old food court area. Also at Brentwood, all the old retail spaces that are empty have been hoarded up with white hoarding, making it easier to distinguish what is open in there at least.
The Tim Hortons is still a ghost store with active menu signs but nothing going on.

I also saw that the old Kits Sbux at Yew and Cornwall is leased to a shop that will be offering "coffee & eyewear" (huh!?)

Seymour & Davie location is also leased.

Assume it's just someone who thinks that is free marketing. Might just be an eyeglass store?

HBC just split off their e-commerce for the two Saks brands and then they come up with this BS:

Quote:
“We’re able to attract and hire a much different type of team member for the company. We’re hiring people from Netflix and Apple and Amazon,” he said. “We weren’t able to do that in the past when we were running a traditional retail company.”
Keep drinking the Kool-Aid.

Seems like they also didn't make out so well with their Penticton lawsuit:

Quote:
The June 17 ruling is a mixed result for both parties. HBC is not evicted because Justice Giaschi granted relief from forfeiture. So at the moment, the mall owner does not have a writ of possession that it requested from the court. But HBC’s relief from forfeiture is on the condition that HBC pays all rent past due, plus interest according to the lease — and on the condition that HBC continues paying rent in future according to the terms of the lease.

I wonder if they'll split off Hudson's Bay's on-line store?
One of the benefits of buying from them on-line is that you can return merchandise to any physical store location.
Presumably that won't be possible if they are separate businesses?
(Which I understand is a problemwith Nordstrom - you can't return on-line purchases to the stores (in Canada, anyways).

They said returns for Saks will be the same (doesn't matter where you buy or return and item)

But this whole spinning off of the e-commerce division seems dated.

Looks like an Artigiano will be taking the former Starbucks space at Howe and W Hastings, and Memphis Blues I believe is still open.

This is a newer business model starting to sprout all over in retail businesses these days. I've seen Coffee and clothing boutique, for instance, as well as coffee/stationary. I think these mixed-up retailing businesses are awesome. Saturday when purchasing some iced coffee at Elysian (Mount Pleasant), I saw they were also selling some books etc.

Tchibo in Germany has been this for a long time. Interesting model but it seems to work. Go grab a coffee and some coffee beans, and maybe some cycling gear or some luggage while you're there.

Tchibo had locations in Vancouver late 70s-early 80s if I remember correctly. I remember it being called, Tchibo Gourmet World. There was one in Harbour Centre.

They had a trademark for that back in the 1980s. Their holding company now also owns a controlling interest in Nivea.
