That South Lamar view up there of Mopacs' is definitely the winning south view of it. I'm not exactly liking the view of it from directly south. It sort of looks odd when viewed from that direction. The views that are either southeast or southwest are better.

Yeah, the diagonals seem to be the best, and the SW is the top choice for me. However, as we've discussed the lighting potential with the sail itself, I also wonder how the setbacks will be illuminated. That could make for a neat effect from the south, especially at dusk and night.

So, I noticed there's some kind of bracket or something running up the southwest edge of the tower. I wonder if that's where the LEDs will go.

I believe that’s for the window washing equipment, didn’t a news report say?

That makes sense. I am wondering how they'll do maintenance on those LEDs. I'm always annoyed by lighting issues with burned out lights or flickering LEDs.

I can confirm that the rails running up the southwest edge of the sail are for the building maintenance system. The basket typically just moves up/down, and the rails on the diagonal edge help move the basket laterally across that part of the curtainwall.

For the lights contained within the curtainwall on the southwest edge of the sail, there are small access doors on the backside that allow for access to any lights that burn out, but since they're LED, they're expected to have a significantly long lifetime. Perhaps some of the burned out or flickering lights you've seen elsewhere are the result of high temperatures that power down the lights until they cool off. The lights on this project were selected with high temperatures in mind, so hopefully that is not an issue!

There will be some lighting on the south elevation, and it will be housed within the metal paneling that runs below the glass guardrails. The lights will be turned up and will illuminate the underside of the terraces, which are clad in a metal panel soffit system.

Man, that Mopac view of it is nice. I think my favorite view really is the west elevation. It is unapologetically different from that side compared to everything else. I wasn't sure at first, but I'm really liking the facade. And I was concerned at first, too, that it would appear too bulky, but with it tapering off now that it's nearing being topped out, it's coming together. I love the look of the glass and mullions from the west view. It has texture and it's a bit darker than I was expecting. I also like the dynamic with it and Indeed Tower a few blocks north.

Thanks for the clarification!

My god, those power station chimneys sure do ruin the views from certain angles. Not to mention all that space that could become another skyscraper...

And in regards to the chimneys, I actually like those. I like the contrast. However, the power lines I could do without.
