I think the 'dated' aspect is because of the presence of heavier metal spandrel elements than other towers being built these days which have glass spandrels or a mullion-free look. I tend to think that the heavier looking elements add a bit more sophistication to the building.

Glass seems more reflective than most new office towers as well. Or it might be my imagination.

I love the heavier retro look, very unique for Vancouver and just has a solid presence about it.

why dont they use those waterfalls at the Law Courts much anymore? seems like such a waste to not use them.

They had them on last fall for a while. It came as a surprise though, as they hadn't been on for most of last year.
