My thoughts were the complete opposite on that unit above. I don't mind the noise and as long as the food smells good and there are no gang shootings, I'm fine with it.

Any updates on the flooding?

The damage was epic, curious how this will be addressed since it seems about 20 floors will be gutted or near gutted.

I also understand the elevator room is out of commission due to flood damage? Are the elevators operational?

Sources tell me damages upwards of $5 million as we speak. Yikey Yikes!

Crazy. I wonder how much of it will be passed on to the strata and homeowners. Hard to imagine Westbank would willingly absorb this hit. I’d imagine also a lawsuit brewing if they don’t try to remediate at all.

A small delay to get my groceries done today. I do groceries here and never noticed the damage pane overhead (Fresh Market canopy).
This afternoon they were replacing what I'm assuming was a damaged glass. Might have been damage when it was installed. You see it here in the first 2 pictures of an earlier post by Klazu

In warranty we trust!

Outside of that, the current exposure/deductibles/loss world is a mess when it comes to multi-family buildings.

We are considering upping our deducible to 50k from 25k just to keep rates down.

*25-75k a year in water damage is not uncommon

The BC home warranty program is complete garbage. All a developer has to do is say they've done their work and there's no compliance checking. From direct experience, I had a place with a few dozen deficiencies and not one was addressed when raised with the warranty program: hello Westbank?

New Home Warranty Programs are pretty much garbage, but the general contractor has obligations to the developer and that's where I see hope.

I know this sounds odd but is it even the developer's intention to eventually finish the build? lots of unfinished parts is still remaining for the building...

This was taken a few days ago when my friend was shown a walkthrough...

Did he come through a time bubble? The taxi company has been closed for months and the other podium buildings are finished with green roofs.
