Another DT crane bites the dust.

Downtown crane count is going to take a serious nose dive until the next wave of condo towers kicks off in 12-18 months.

Pretty incredible how all tall buildings in above photo are from the last 5-7 years. South Downtown is seriously densifying and will continue to!

I see the crane is still there. The last time a mobile crane was working this tower crane (to move it 5 metres over), it was on a Saturday Post #1324
Your guess is as good as mine when Horby st. will be closed off.

I don't mind the stepping - because it's not a flat roof with a box for elevator / mechanical - but there is a lot of blank wall and spandrel that seems to cut the windows down a lot. Horizontal mullions on the subpenthouse levels seem poorly placed.

Saturday May 29th 3:53 pm - A little more paint and balcony railings and glass to finish on this side. And perhaps a LED strip. I'm hopeful.

To the relief of all those with OCPD, myself included, that off pattern window pane has been replaced.

Thanks! I will sleep easier tonight.

But, was it actually replaced, or was it just turned around?

You can see the replacement pane on the ground midway through the video

Having that glass pane hanging over the bucket didn't seem like an ideal setup.

Your right, at one point they could have avoided being directly beneath it. But what are the chances of a catastrophic failure of the suction cups (or mobile crane).
After what I just said, WorkSafeBC wants to have a few words with me

Thanks.
Looks like they are painting the spine on the tower in white.
