To be fair we are not blessed with vast hydro resources like many other provinces. Also our ag sector that feeds the rest of Canada and much of the world accounts for 24% of our emissions and we don't get credit for the offsetting carbon sink. They eat our food and we get blamed for the emissions.

Burning coal after the 50s is unacceptable. We should have phased the coal plants out 60 years ago. Whether via nuclear or natural gas, which were viable options in 1960.

Britain proved its a viable strategy to exit and phase into something else. No reason we can't do the same. It's a choice not to.

Unfortunately fossil fuels (much like vaccines, mask wearing, etc) have entered the partisan culture war, and conservative politicians now cling to the industry as a partisan issue.

If CBS gets approval, would this mean that they would completely vacate the property at Broad & Broadway? If so, this is where Brandt should be constructing their new building/CNIB offices. Not across the street in Wascana Park.

That would be a great idea for Brandt BUT I would prefer them to build downtown!

The link is now broken, but a venue like Sask Place in its infancy wouldn't be terrible. Big enough to handle 15k, but built with something in the range of 10-12k seats.12-15k does definitely feel like the minimum if we're going to replace Brandt and make it worth it though.

I searched after and found the report, but yeah, something with permanent seating in the 10k range hardly feels worth the expense of a new facility.

Yep, council approved the McD's a few month ago. It's going on the Lewvan side of Evraz (southwest corner).

I’m guessing entrance to the grounds might be a thing of the past but you will need to buy passes to get into certain facilities and or rides etc. since they will want people to go to these businesses. Parking passes I’m sure would still be a thing.
