Is it possible to not make this into city vs city thing and just think about improving the user-experience of the website for everyone. Scrolling through a 10-20 full screen images per post is good for no one.

Limiting the image sizes or limiting the number of images to say 4 per post would do wonders for the usability of this site.

Agree with the above. I only forward updates that I find interesting or notable, and can't imagine the fun in posting every last project in a big metro, sounds tedious!

I try not to post to much at a time becase I'm guilty of this. Seeign as MUCH more content from another website is beign posted, I shy away from posting as much on this thread, but still post to dedicated threads. I think there needs to be a more thoughtful rethinking of how MUCH we post by sheer image amounts at times.

Lol, we all do. You're deluding yourself by thinking that is somehow the issue. The issue is the same 50+ (may 100+? ) projects from one metropolitan area being updated multiple times a month, in some cases multiple times a week. Not that much changes in that span of time, and that level of pollution of a thread that is ostensibly for nation-wide construction updates is completely unnecessary.

This is why I like SRC, 15 photos maximum per post.

Way back when I started the whole posting renders with construction pics thing (obv to put the face to the project), the renders were always 600px or less, with the update pics at 1024px. Now everyone is doing full-sized renders and full sized update pics at like 1600px in massive updates. And these days it's getting to be more like 20 to 30 per post. It's not a city vs city thing, common courtesy just needs to be taken into account for everyone's benefit.

The complex is in the La Cité sector, pre-amalgamation Gatineau's suburban town centre, where you'll find the central library, performance theatre, a cinema, restaurants, offices (Federal, Municipal and Private sector), a Cégep, major sports complex, the new Centre Slush Puppie and a the City's largest RapiBus station.

The building has concrete vaults within the glass enclosure. That's a better approach to build something esthetically pleasing. Of course, the function of the 97' preservation centre might not be the same as the new building. I'm sure there's a reason why they couldn't do the same this time around.

Interesting to see modern buildings like VIVRE I above taking nods from 1960s residential architecture. Maybe we're almost at the point where we longer view it as something to be destroyed but something to be restored, preserved, celebrated, and added to.

It's build on what used to be a large train yard. It is near the campus of Université de Montréal, the last patch of land undeveloped in Outremont.
