If you're looking at around 7:30 (?), then yes this would be for another rest area and the Routhierville Covered Bridge acces.

7:30 mark is correct. He's got it labeled and shows a photo of the bridge around that part. I think there's a sign about five seconds before that but you can't read it due to the glare.

Yep there is a sign for the rest area and the covered bridge. The bridge used to be grey but was painted in oxblood red color after its refurbishing in 2012, making it way more visible and interesting.

I know this is far from home , but this is a drive you want to experience if you have the chance, along with the Route 299!

The area does look very scenic. Is there a lot of traffic during the summer?

Also, once A85’s completed, how are you getting to places between Matapédia and Gaspé?
I wanna gauge how many will stay on the 132 around Gaspésie vs how many will switch and go through N.B.

To the Toronto posters just watching CP24 and the great Webcam shots are showing orange or pink lane lines on certain highway stretches? Or is it just my eyes?

MTO uses orange line paintings in construction zones to indicate that you are in one.

Hmm never thought of that. I would be tempted to think most people will stay on the 132. How do you see it?

I suppose that once the A-85 is completed the route through NW NB will probably be 5-10 minutes shorter.

The north shore route is fantastic. You would enjoy it. All mountains and seascapes with charming little villages. The route gets much more rugged the further east you go.

The south shore route along the Gaspe also has it's charms, but is much more civilized. Lots more tourist facilities along the south shore.

As for highway improvements, I personally would much rather see the continuation of a divided A-20 as far east as Rimouski and Mont-Joli and then a continuation of the divided highway down the Matapedia to New Brunswick and then from Campbellton to Bathurst, Miramichi and then on to Shediac and Moncton. This would complete the divided highway network in NB.

Extending a divided A-20 to Rimouski seems plausible in the medium term, as does the twinning of several NB super-2s given your province's aggressive (by Canadian standards) highway program.

But twinning the 132 in the Matapédia valley seems extremely unlikely. If you've driven it in many winding stretches it's tightly nestled between the mountains on one side and the river down below.
