Sorry I meant to say take the train at Bayview to head one stop towards Tunneys, and then stay on the train, which will then head back towards Blair (and once again pass Bayview). The idea being that you "beat" the mob waiting to get on / off at Tunneys. This of course would only work if you're not in a rush
This project actually turned out not bad. It doesn't look at wide as in the renderings. It's actually pretty tall. It looks good from the parkway and at ground level.
I have to say I am really disappointed with the way this one turned out. The Schoolhouse conversion is beautiful, but the tower is horrible. It has the same cheapo institutional Roderick Lazy look as the Westboro Connection tower, although I believe this one is a Hobin project. It doesn't match the neighbourhood in any way and in my opinion is just plain ugly.
What's up with the weird obsession with the coloured panels? I'd say this fad will be looked down upon in the future as tacky and dated, except that it already looks tacky and dated and it's brand new.

The street level of this one is weird. Unless you're paying attention, you would never know there's retail on the ground floor. It's very disconnected from the street. If they had lit signs and awnings, none of these weird little stairs, it would be fine.
That said, the retail bays are all taken. A German Pub, a barber shop and bike shop.

The Braumeister Bierhalle is one of my favourite places to grab a pint. Their beers have a very distinct clean taste. Their Marzen is modeled after beer brewed in the Augustine monastery in Salzburg, which transports my tastebuds to my backpacking youth when that was the best beer I had ever tasted (coming from a prudish Ontario where the Brewers Retail sold mostly Molson and Labatt beers behind a counter).
I love the quirkiness of the location, it’s proof that a good product will work almost anywhere.
