That could very well be the case. But even the link above shows it not rising above a third diamond. I'm remembering a rotating rendering also, I'll try to find it.

I think this annotated image might help. The rendering on the left was posted earlier by Street Advocate. Although this image does not show the recessed balconies, I think it is one of the latest renderings based on where the first V starts, which unlike many other renderings, actually matches the as-built configuration.

Points X and A define the currently constructed 4-floor bracing sections (the two diamonds). Point B shows where the next 4-floor bracing segment would go, and point C shows the uppermost completed floor, which is half way to the next 4-floor section, defined by D. Part of the floor above C is complete, so there is approximately 1 ½ floors to go to D. D to E defines the last true floor, with the remaining distance between E and F being a decorative extension of the glass curtain wall and the exposed bracing (hence 2 ½ floors to go, plus the crown).

That's very helpful, thank you. The differing renderings are confusing. I'm happy to concede that there may be some more height yet to come.

In my defense I'll say this. In the image on the right, it's hard to see, but some of the reinforcing steel strands for the columns to level "D" have been set. I was referring to the building already being under structural construction two levels above the current completed floor (the "C" mark), i.e., to the "D" level. The "E" mark doesn't exist in Martinman's render post...it's part of the crown in that render. So the uppermost reinforcing steel in the right image might be roof level, with crown above. That's what I meant by "topping out".

E exists in Martinman’s post, too, it’s just ~1.5 floors lower at the middle of the top X. Martinman’s rendering has an additional 2 floors after the middle of the X, then two more without office floors of just bracing.

Either way, we know the building tops out with a full X. Even with the street bracing going up to the D tier, we are only at the bottom half of the final X. So how many office floors to go is TBD from there, but if either rendering is correct there’s an additional 2-3 floors from D, plus the additional bracing.

The crane or the elevator? The (exterior) construction elevator is partially visible on some of the other camera views. Notably, the floor numbering on the elevator apparently starts at the 2nd basement level, so the ground floor lobby level and mezzanine are thus the 3rd and 4th floors, respectively. The numbering also skips from 12 to 14, which, as I indicated earlier, may explain why the building was erroneously reported as 31 floors: If you saw a building diagram with the top floor labeled as "31," you might reasonably conclude the building was 31 floors, if you didn't also check to see if this included partial subterranean levels or a skipped 13th floor.

With it being directly south of One Atlantic Center, it would have to be over 800 feet tall to be seen from the North even if Icon didn't exist.

I think he’s just bummed icon blocks the view. It’s plenty visible when you are west or south of it on the connector. Just as it’s visible from several angles to the east.
