Edmonton looking like a major city there. Even if they were only 30 stories tall, a series of towers along Jasper would make dt Edmonton look even bigger. Jasper definately needs a make-over. Oliver's population and density is (roughly) equal to the Beltline, but Jasper Ave is nowhere close to being as busy as 17th Ave.

Edmonton needs some girth and about 10 key infill projects in the Downtown/Oliver to really make it come alive.

Crazy how much difference two buildings can make. Remove Stantec and that other smaller tower in the same style (i.e. same view not that long ago) and it immediately looks like a much smaller city.

Tall buildings can do wonders for Vancouver, Victoria, Montreal, and Halifax skylines as well!

Agree...

A reconfiguration of the roads in the Valley? I still don't see a need even when we do get bigger. And no more development there. It's actually quite beautiful right now. You are correct, so much more available land in edmonton to develop.

Lovely images there, Edmonton looks incredible from that aerial. Once the ICE district is further developed i the coming years, that part of downtown will look pretty nice.

Great shot of Montreal and Vancouver too, the latter looks stunning in that angle at night, the former is intriguing in so many ways since Griffintown is exploding in growth....both cities have such rich layering.

Putting aside for a moment that Edmonton still needs more (as does every other city), Edmonton's skyline has never been big enough to fill the city's own boots. Being used to the scale of Calgary's core, Edmonton, at 98% the same size city, was just oddly underdeveloped. But now it has accomplished two things: it has begun filling those boots, and it is developing its own character that fits its personality like Calgary's towers fit its.

Absolutely exhausted from taking care of our brand new puppy while juggling a friend's wedding pre-celebration in the backyard (thanks COVID) over the weekend, so this was some unexpected reading on my monday morning before work.

I hadn't noticed until you mentioned it, but yes, I agree the missing antenna takes away from the CIBC Tower.

We'll start getting a few if/when some LeBreton Flats area towers get off the ground. Not quite as tall as Stantec, but still far taller than anything we have at the moment.
