Thanks but I know my weaknesses.

Despite my best intentions to just enjoy the forum after years of lurking, I immediately waded into the first drama I saw and, by turns, either told people off or cheered the drama along. That's not good for the forum or for me.

I'm bad at just ignoring things and can't keep my big mouth shut, and then I'm doing exactly what I'm asking others not to do!

In my defense, "wow, I find that this aerial skyline view of Calgary from the northeast that just got posted really showcases a striking, fascinating, and exotic contrast between a massive office tower taller than anything in Montreal (or in the entire Province of Quebec for that matter) and extremely modest detached wooden SFHs a mere few blocks away" is 100% "topic related material" for this thread. Great Edmonton pic! It's pretty rare that the (really cool) late 1960s CN building is so clearly visible.

I think the Stantec tower and its shorter companion in the same style will both age well.

Yup, she's a classic. Our first tower built in 1966. We lived about 1.5 kms away from this tower for years. I remember as a kid just staring at the CN logo as it circled the tower crown. Before cable or video games. Had to do something haha.

Becoming an adult: when you control your own actions and can justify them with reasoning and appropriate content. It is childish to base one's own actions on those of another. If someone's acting childish towards you, you do not need to reply in the same manner, if you need to reply at all.

We all have inner childs, so we don't always act in an adult fashion. We can slip, lose our temper, etc. BUT, if we do, adults then regain their self control and reign in their childish missteps. A long drawn-out childish fight is the problem here.

Also, posting relevant content (written or photographic) mixed with childish aggression does not elevate your contributions, rather it's just a different version of the same.

I too, never realized that Edmonton had a 66 story until recently.

Chad- I'm going to ask you nicely, so I will appreciate no blowback from my following comment: I kindly ask you to please refrain from any shirtless photos, or any pin up style poses of you laying down in the grass where your otherwise beautiful pictures of the Calgary skyline are obviously secondary to your intended photos. There are other sites for that.

Also going forward, if Eastern Canada were to suffer another crippling blizzard this winter, please refrain from posting selfies (again) of you reveling in the chinook induced temperature and sunshine bragging about how warm it is outside..Please and thank you kindly.

Anyways, that was an interesting few pages...always appreciate seeing a man show himself with some nice erected units behind him.

(You're a keeper Chadillac, remember that!)

Seeing that latest Edmonton image with the CN tower, I really like that angle, it's unique and shows a strange juxtaposition we normally don't see from other, more photogenic views. Those are some nice images there of Vancouver, those two new towers look good for layering...and since they have unique design elements.
