Well...most of the LRT system was down today, which may be due to the wind. I saw some workers out near Stadium Station working on the catenary, so perhaps that was the issue.

So the new St Transit centre on Campbell road is now open for buses. The building is not yet available but buses are now running out of it. This will pick up the NW corner of Edmonton as well.

One thing I did notice this morning was the long line of buses trying to turn left off St Albert Trail.

At first I didn't see the point of this transit centre until LRT opened especially if it added a few minutes to everyone's trips between St. Albert and Edmonton. But where did everyone transfer onto the commuter buses before?

The connection of the Tawatinâ Bridge this week marked a major step reached in Edmonton's LRT expansion.

On Thursday, TransEd, a consortium of companies constructing the line, announced the bridge spanning the north and south banks over the North Saskatchewan River had been connected. The southeast Valley Line is 13 kilometres connecting the Mill Woods neighbourhood to downtown Edmonton.

This $1.8-billion LRT line is expected to open in summer or fall 2021, six months later than the original projections for December 2020.
