^ Thank goodness. Now please refresh my memory, is this just repairs to the existing span or will it be a new pair of bridges? As I recall this is the original bridge that for some reason wasn't touched during the floodway expansion project of the 2000s?

Even the floodway bridge on Hwy 59 north of the city...over a year ago part of the guard rail got knocked out. instead of just fixing it, the curb lane was closed and it's been like that ever since!

That's what we're talking about. The girder below is damaged.

I'll be pleasantly surprised if construction starts in the next couple months.

It's supposed to be 2 new bridges being built while the existing is still in service. From what I've heard. Some innovative solution that was mentioned during the initial presser.

I spoke with those involved, the plan was in place to replace the 59 North floodway bridge in 2020/2021 (before the existing bridge was hit). The repairs were north of $1.5 million (insurance coverage was $500-$800k). They saw no reason to spend the $1.5m only to rip it down 1-2 years later.

Thanks Biff. 2020 is quickly drawing to a close. Are those dates still accurate?

These facts will probably ruin someone's furious indignation.

Can’t believe pee wee Bowman and our clown council didn’t screw up Amazon coming here and building a giant warehouse and the jobs that come with it! (Yet)

Of course clueless Liberal leader dufus Dumont against it, “why do we need jobs here” he said!

Looks like not building new , repurposing a warehouse in Inkster Industrial Park and the Amazon warehouse jobs are low paying sweatlodge type jobs , better than nothing but nothing great for city either. Lots of problems and grievances with workers in Amazon warehouses lately .

That's pretty cool. Great idea. A lot of those videos, photos, etc just end up in the trash. Which is quite sad.

Wab and the rest of the leaky canoe speNDP crowd getting really anxious with the impending release of the Hydro report, Wab is pulling out all the usual stops like shoot the messenger in his attempts to try and discredit the report which will be damning (pardon the pun)!
