This proposal quoted below meets the street and interacts with the BeltLine nicely is literally proposed across the BeltLine from the barracks style development you keep making excuses for. It would exist in the same area depicted in the Skylark rendering provided on this same page. Your words show you are part of the problem holding Atlanta back. As we are still having these discussions shows Atlanta is decades behind on what is common public knowledge and implemented upon.
There are thousands of units proposed for the southside trail and more coming. Just because there is not density or good land use today does not mean that it won’t be here in the near future. Advocating for garden style or barracks style communities with poor interaction of our infrastructure is just poor advocacy and management of what is limited acreage within city limits and nearby proposed high capacity transit lines and growing transportation corridors.
In before anyone tries to say “but the affordable housing included demands it!” I say to you prove it by running an actual financial model including tax credits on comparable acreage. Skylark is nothing more than a sprawling waste of acreage that has some of y’all hoodwinked.
