It was no secret that this would be taller than 3 Civic when it was proposed quite some time ago. It is also no secret that it will be quite some time before we see this top out too.

I don't see them starting until University District is complete. So around 2022.

Not really into the project. I feel commercial mixed use would have been better suited for that area.

That is a good point. If they added ground-level commercial like the bake shop and bubble tea store that are already in that plaza they could amalgamate some of the stores/restaurants in that mall and develop more of it.

Good to see that it'll be a rental building, if that holds true further down the line.

However it says "The apartment building would be in the northeast corner of the site, south of the library and fronting 122nd Street. The building would use the existing entrances to the shopping centre." This mall has no indoor common space and based on the first picture the cinema is a little to the south west off the development.I don't see how it would use the "existing entrances" to the shopping centre as based on the render and pictures it's a standalone building.

Does anyone know what the piece of land at the corner of Whalley Blvd and Fraser Highway is going to be used for? Right now it's mostly just grass with some sort of energy structure there.

164m is from the actual planning report and includes the roof of the mechanical penthouse.

I suspect they mean the driveway would be 'the existing entrance'. There are two of them there, so it makes sense. I also wish it had retail on the ground level.

Surrey City Centre YMCA has been cancelled due to growing construction costs. Hopefully the City and/or the YMCA can figure something else out to make this project viable.

I was just in Langley this evening and I could see a huge plume of smoke and heard the firetrucks. Looks pretty bad.

I had just pulled into Damiano's Pizza and there was nothing wrong. When I got my order and came back out, black smoke was billowing into the sky and the flames were visible above the roofline. Fire trucks came outta no where in an instant, and I did my best to stay out of their way.

I'm not sure if anything was wrong when I pulled in, and if not then that fire got going FAST!
