Probably was named that a while ago while the show was still at the peak of its popularity as the most popular TV show on the planet.
And it probably even helped in sales.

It'd be a bit different today.
Like naming your kid 'Danaerys' or something, in 2020.

As it is right now, there's a lot of toddlers running around called "Dany", who will almost certainly be changing their names to "Danielle" or "Diana" when they become teenagers. (probably "Diana". Wonder Woman will still be popular then, I reckon)

That's assuming their "insightful" parents haven't already filed to get their names changed.

Any renders? I saw that yesterday. I was hoping they could put at least 2 towers in that lot. It's really big.

Council has requested 2 towers instead of the one currently proposed.

It is still in initial review I believe.

The developer, Janda Group, is rather busy with their Aldergrove project currently.

Unlikely any big steps taken here for a little while.

Has anyone heard of an update for the rental building "Surrey Village" at 9835 King George Blvd? There was an application to do exterior renovations but council struck it down.

I was just looking at some photos of the interior and it looks like they inside has been renovated / taken care of which you wouldn't know from looking at the outside. With all of the construction going on around (Hub, Park, Avani, Holland Parkside, etc) it would be nice to fill th at building in with a nicer exterior and help the neighoburhood.

While I think there insane to move to a municipal police force, Surrey's economic action and recovery plan seems like a great example for other municipalities and I hope they put in something similar:

Looks like UrbanSurrey posted it back in March, but there's an application for the building just south of 108 and King George (across from the police station).

46 story tower with a 5 story podium is planned at this stage.

That area is going to be flooded with some tall towers. Whalley Station Towers (51F & 47F) and Flamingo Towers (36F, 37F, 46F).

Hopefully the start of a continuous streetwall along KGB all the way down to 96th Ave.

I noticed that there has been a fair bit of recent activity on the Knight & Day application, formally known as "Belvedere". This project seems kinda odd to me, as it is coming along, but there has been no announcement of units being for sale, or any marketing at all. Further, Square Nine's website says it'll be 30 stories but the application says 25.. Does anyone have any information as to whats going on with this.

They modified the building height from 85 meters to 92.5 meters. According to the project scoping documents. So there is a good chance it is around 30 floors. Although I think the extra 7.5 meters would only add 3 more floors.

Noticed the south side residential portion of the stepped tower resembles Vancouver House in balcony pattern.

There's also a sneak peek at Concord's next project in Surrey to the left of this project in the top (north facing) elevation. Shorter, wide, and curved (similar to the Arc?)

Not sure if it was posted but looking at the council report for this large project (not the Concord one), they are saying tallest tower will be 175 meters. That would I believe be 20 meters taller than 3-Civic and about 10 meters shy of Brentwood One and Two which share 5th spot in the region.
