They would do well there. The Charlottetown location is apparently the busiest in the world, or at least it was as one point.

Possibly this?

This is 481 University Avenue, and probably the only building in the area that fits the description.

FOUND IT!! It appears to be Subway on the corner. Its address is 480. The building isn't too far from where I live and I have noticed it has been awfully quiet with no traffic. I just thought maybe it was due to COVID and there was no students at that time. They do have a Subway on campus. So, it appears to
be approved for demo.

I find that a little sad actually. I remember that building from way back when it was an honest to God A&W drive-in restaurant, complete with servers (female car hops) who took your order to your car and hooked it on a tray to your window so you could eat in the car.

I t was kind of corny at the time (1960s), but rather nostalgic in hindsight.

I can't remember if the car hops were on roller skates or not, but I have a sneaking suspicion they were.........

It looked kinda like this

My wife and I grew up in the area. We remember, and they did have roller skates.
I guess that UPEI finally got its wish? They have been after that location for years! Was once owned by St Dunstians and the Catholic Church! Sold off as were the properties on Belvedere Ave! The university has been trying to buy back what they once owned!

I love when NIMBY complains and then something larger gets approved. Sure, not as tall, but certainly looks like a larger footprint.

It takes one person but in this case it took a whole slew of apartment dwellers next door to squash its height. It was supposed to be six stories but some complained they couldn't see out their windows while doing their dishes or blocked the sun during their yoga routine in the morming. I wish we would stop listening to these stupid complaints.

Re: Lot 19-1 Sherwood Road (PID #1107200)

Located on Sherwood Rd.
A public meeting is required for the proposed subdivision of the subject property into two lots, each of
which would accommodate an industrial use - heavy truck maintenance shop and
construction company office, both of which will have ancillary
warehousing and outside storage.
The eastern portion of the subject property once subdivided would be
consolidated with a portion of parcel PID #145961 to the east.

The foundation has started with a very large hole developing behind Doc Braces.

They don’t even have a design yet.

It's in the hands of the architects. Once designed, it will take off from there. By soon I mean possibly next year's budget.
Across the road on John Yeo Drive, there is a new development approved and will soon be starting there along with many others in the area. So there is certain element of hurry up and get this fire hall built as there is a lot of development happening.

UPEI Residence Update

The foundation is underway.

Before seeing it started on the lot, it was hard to envision how large this was going to be.
Well, this is going to be one big building now that I can see its footprint getting started.
