He definitely seems far more invested in the issue than I am, and I'm supposed to be the SJW here.

They're putting up a hell of a fight to preserve the status quo and their pancake brands, it's 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 weird. You'd think they'd put more effort into improving things like suicide rates among men, systemic discrimination against working class and unemployed whites, and the government's inaction on the opioid crisis but no, the important thing to them is a few statues and some pancake mix. And rice, can't forget the rice. I've never had Uncle Ben's rice (you can buy real rice from roadside stands up here) but I can't imagine that the name of it is the most important aspect of its taste, is it?

How many of these people you are talking about do you actually know personally and therefore have a credible understanding of their psychology, albeit still through your own lens? Or are you just projecting realities that conform best with your own?

Yes, every person is sui generis given intersectionality and we should never cast any judgment on their actions because unless we shared their genes and environment we could never truly know.

Now I understand why the left wants to abolish police. The courts are probably next. Judgment free zone.

Sometimes it comes down to “I don’t like to feel things and other people expressing theirs makes me uncomfortable.” Gotta rationalize it all away somehow.

Whiteness after all is culturally tied to emotional repression in North American culture. It’s that disconnect from reality which also allows for dehumanization of others.

And yes this is both a white and a generally human problem.

Deflection. That in no way answers my question.

If you look closely at those stats you'll see that some of them are unbalanced in favour of African Americans.

Is BLM the answer for making more progress? I think the evidence weighs more heavily in it being detrimental.

You don't need to share the genes, but if you truly believe that crime is bad and there should be less of it, the least you can do is understand the context from which it originates.

I've spent a lot of time and effort trying to explain this but since it's so contrary to the worldview of most people posting here, I don't feel like the effort is worth it anymore. You won't understand our point of view because you lack the ability to, but unfortunately that doesn't stop you from arguing against it as if you do understand it. Instead of fostering a debate in which we refine points and learn from each other we are just going back and forth with the same points rephrased slightly each time, and for some reason you and the posters who think like you do don't get as exhausted by that as I do.

The strawman arguments are getting old, and the caricature of a persona you've created for me seems like a textbook case of psychological projection.

The dam is showing a lot of cracks and they’re desperately trying to plug all the holes before it collapses. Some of us are just waiting for the inevitable because we know it’s gotta happen anyways.

The evidence is that it has been highly effective at changing public opinion and getting more done than any other protest in my lifetime. Bravo, I say.

Read some books about these topics. Read from people who have studied these issues. Open your mind. Learn something.

These issues make you highly uncomfortable. That much is obvious. Do you know what white fragility is?

Jesus Christ dude you can't ask him that!!!!! That's a violence!!

Asking white people if they know what white fragility or white privilege are is like asking a man when he stopped beating his wife.

If you ask about white fragility, you are usually guaranteed to hear some very good examples of it.

“Gasp! Something is wrong with ME? I might have things to learn? There might be things I don’t know about myself and others? Impossible. I was shaped in ways beyond my control by a world that is built on white supremacy? But I was raised in a vacuum. I object.”

If you think the current climate is because suddenly "the system" cares about black people or black civil rights you're really delusional. "Getting more done by protesting" is wildly incorrect, it's being done by coercion through violence, destruction, and black-balling anyone who doesn't submit to the pre-approved agenda. This whole fiasco just set black people back another generation, maybe more; which is 🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵🞵 because the grievances by black people are completely legitimate but the methods to do it has been catastrophic.

If you think the banks, the international corporations, the entrenched political class, and any institution who wields any power in society not only agrees with the methods but encourage it even further then how could anyone think they are fighting the "system". The "system" is enabling those people to burn everything down so they can rule unequivocally.

"I'm not a fragile person!!!" cries Mark hysterically as he weeps over his hoard of racist iconography. "I can live without Uncle Ben and Mrs Buttersworth!!" he chokes out between gasping sobs from his basement hoard of pancake mixes and fake war bonnets.

Pray tell, what should they have done? Silently taken a knee? Notwithstanding that most of the rioting and violence was initiated by police and white supremacist groups and subsided after the police ran out of ammunition, please, explain to me how people fighting for their rights hurts them. Put it into the context of that nation that became independent after revolting over an import tax placed on tea.

This is a story your mind has created to support a preconceived set of notions. I disagree. Enjoy your Sunday evening.
