It's so crucial that we get lots more residential in this and other central areas to make sure businesses can sustain, and some semblance of culture and activity exists outside of peak hours. Seems lots of these places are relying on residential traffic, but we can't keep going out all the time lol. There needs to be more of us or more folks coming from other areas of the city to support.

Also, I'm surprised Forth on Bannatyne hasn't opened yet - hopefully soon.

I had initially heard June for demo. Not sure what the current status is, but I'm sure COVID has delayed lots of things that weren't already underway.

Forth will be reopening at some point but they are sorting through a lot of internal changes right now.

I have heard it is rolling along fine...slowed down because of Covid, but we should see action there mid to late summer.

The site definitely was sold and closed. The tenant was given an extension to relocate. They do have a new location and will be out by the fall.. I guess demo will follow...

Yeah I imagine they can start (interior) work on the historic building before demolishing GWM. Anyone know what the phasing plan is for this project? Like are they waiting until this part on Pacific/Alexander is done before starting on the Galt portion of the project?

Joe & Lily closed down but a new coffee shop has already replaced it, Colosimo Coffee Roasters Cafe. Colosimo has been roasting coffee here since 1997 and supply to tons of offices and restaurants, they roast all of De Luca's coffee. This is their first owned cafe.

Jason Colosimo had a working relationship with the Joe & Lily owner from day 1 and was their main supplier. To be honest the old owner was always kinda one foot in, one foot out, had other stuff going on and the cafe was kind of a side hobby. I think Jason will put a lot more into it.

I have always enjoyed Joe & Lily over the years... a great machine and espresso.

Have had many meetings and discussions about Waterfront North, architecture and a path forward in the area. Have met the new operators and they know how to make a great coffee too! I’m glad the location will remain as it really is excellent. Tell your friends and patronize these little gems in the area!

Does anyone know what the deal is with the empty unit in the same building as Miss Browns on William? It's been empty for 5 years but hasn't had a lease sign up in at least three. It's fully drywalled and ready for someone to move in, it's so bizarre.

Confirmed Harrison's Coffee Co is opening a second location on Waterfront in the Excelsior, they just got possession June 1 so will still be a few months. This is the new name for Espresso Junction at the Johnston Terminal (they roast beans in the basement there), changed ownership.

I assume they will still be putting the frame out in front of the new building. They are patio doors in the units that currently lead to nowhere.

Yes the brackets for the frame are on the ground. They were putting in electrical hookups on the outside of the new part last week so prob just finishing the exterior before they put the frame in place. The commercial unit in that part is already leased. Main floor unit in corner building looks like it still has a long way to go.

Thanks for the updates. I was looking at the pictures of the suites and IMO leaves a bit to be desired. I suppose it's because they're partly finished. They look a tad small as well.
